M-U-S-T... R-E-S-I-S-T...I-W-C............... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

Actually though, my next watch is going to be a brand that I have never owned. I have my eye on one of two models.

But since I just bought my AP Offshore Polaris, I think I need to cool it for a while before I pull the trigger on another watch..

Default Holy cow!

How can anyone poo poo women with shoe fetishes when men collect timepiece collections like that? I 've got a Casio G-shock for work (military pilot) and this TAG Carrera my wife bought for me for play (I like clean, uncluttered lines - like my NB 993!). When shopping for the TAG, I also liked the Breitling Navitimer (NOT uncluttered) and the Cartier Pasha.

Anyone know why watch ads always show the same time (10:08)?

Wow - I'm glad I dont work with you guys on a daily basis - I would really be getting watch envy!! B-line, you have an awesome collection - how many of those do you have to keep in an automatic winder? I see you are not a square face kind of guy.......

For those of you Omega chrono fans...I've got a 1973 Omega Speedmaster Chrono Auto Mark IV 1045 (TV watch) that my dad bought new and was handed down to me when I graduated from high school. I've been wearing it every day since and it keeps time like the Omega that it is. My brother graduates from biz school next week and I thought I'd pass it on down as a rite of passage. To replace it, I bought a mint condition 1973 Omega Speedmaster Chrono Auto 125. Love vintage Omegas!

TJ, thanks.. I've been building my watch collection for a couple years. I have one winder but I never use it. Most winders are crap and I prefer to keep the watches locked up. Having said that, except for the gold rolex which was a family members and was passed on to me and I hold onto for sentimental reasons (but I don't wear it.).. I find the best way to keep them from getting gunked up is to wear them all in a regular (or irregular) rotation. None of them sit for very long.

Square face has not spoken to me.. Maybe sometime down the road I will want some diversity but as I am a t-shirt and jeans type of guy, sport chrono's fit my wardrobe. I may start looking at some non-chrono's soon. I really like that Chopard Gran Tourismo XL in white face. I tried it on recently and it is impressive to say the least. And VERY reasonably priced...

B

btw.. Some really nice watches you all have out there. Thanks for sharing. You have given me some great ideas.

10:08 and 10:10

It is the time where the hands position don't obstruct any of the other smaller dials, (look at your picture) or date window and you can see both hands. It also makes the watch look more balanced.

I hate when check the date on my watch and the minute hand is at 15 minute marker, I have to wait a minute until I can see the date.

The above is true, however there is an additional reason. I am not kidding about this either.

It was determined (I do not know by who), that when the arms are in that position it makes a smile. A smile is a positive image and when you think of the watch you will associate happiness with it......

In addition to the above with the hands in this position the manufacture's name which is in most cases is just below the 12 on the dail is not obstructed in fact the hands at 10:08, 10:10 draw attention to the manufacture's name.

i also like the Chopard driving watch? .. despite not thinking much of Chopard as a watch maker.

Anyway to just get the "Tire tread watch band" that they use? I think it would be great for other sport watches.
