Default Spring rates

I'm doing some research on sprins to be used w/ my JIC suspension

Boris Teksler kindly posted these spring rates all are in lbs/in.here
"Here is the information I've been able to gather thus far for spring rates:
US factory M030 150-200 fr 225-275 rr
Eibach 7209 120 fr 200 rr
Weltmeister 180 fr 268 rr
H&R peformance 240-260 fr 280-310 rr
H&R coilovers 290-310 fr 350-370 rr
H&R supercup 310-350 fr 385-435 rr
BIlstein PSS-9 225-250 fr 400-685 rr
"Motorsport" 600 fr 800 rr"

additional research show GT2 competition version used the following
front yellow 270N/mm 27.5kg/mm 1542lb/in to 320N/mm 32.6kg/mm 1827lb/in
rear red 296N/mm 30.2kg/mm 1690lb/in to 350N/mm 35.7kg/mm 1999lb/in

JIC springs that I have are
front 68.7N/mm 7kg/mm 392lb/in
rear 98.1N/mm 10kg/mm 560lb/in

or
front 78.5/mm 8kg/mm 448lb/in
rear 117.7/mm 12kg/mm 672lb/in

I will be running TRG adjustable bars f/r 18" MPSC dual use(street/track), but never a daily driver

Curious as to what others w/ similar profiles might be using and their likes/dislikes

Bill,

I think there might be a calculation problem with the GT2 spring rates. I show the 320N/mm spring is equivalent to a 1828lbs/in spring. Did you leave off the leading 1?

No problem. The only reason I spotted it is because my springs are in that range. I can't remember right now, but I'm either at 280 in the front and 300 in the rear or 300 in the front and 320 in the rear. Anyway, it's pretty stiff but I really like it. I run the Moton Club Sports with the TRG sway bars.

Hi on my turbo (I don't think it's much heavier)
I'm using H&R race springs
front tender/main 200/457 lbs
rear tender/main 200/629 lbs
on moton CS, TRG sways and monoball camber plates - I have them set up so that I really like them (have the rebound on 2 out of 7 all around and the compression on 2 out of 7 in in front and 3 on rear for the street - up to compression 5 front 6 rear, rebound kept at 2) but with all the variables out there would be hard to compare (had H&R coil overs before that broke)...

Yeah, pretty much. It's still registered for street use and is insured but I haven't driven it on the streets for almost two years now. I keep it at the track, so I really don't get a chance to drive it on the street. If it was in my garage, I would probably take it out once in while until my back starts hurting.

I have 6 track days on my new JIC Cross Competition suspension with the "H" option springs, about 580lbs front and 790lbs rear as I recall, with H&R 26mm/24mm sways. I am very happy with it, and will be doing days 7,8 & 9 at Mid Ohio next weekend, this time with new Hoosier R6s.

I know this doesn't interest you track guys but does anyone have the spring rates for the M033 (not M030) springs?
Now, back to track talk.
Thanks in advance,
chuck

Cool I think I do...

Similar to stock, 143 Lbs front and 297 Lbs rear...linear springs. You get the stock ride but the car will be lowered a bit. This is the comfortable ride option with the effect of lowering the car a bit, without a sporty ride.

Check Gert Carnewal's web site http://www.carnewal.com for more details.

As most know, ride height adjustments on the front is minimal. The threads on the front strut body upon which the lower spring perches are threaded, is about 20mm, not enough to do much with.

There are no threads on the rear shock bodies. The rear ride height can be manipulatd by one of three (3) plastic shims: 3mm, 5.5mm and 8.0mm. Not one hell of a lot.
