Need Dash, Rear Deck Shock and Seat Help

Bob, Thanks - the guy sent the parts without any boc/documentation.
the strut/chock has this lable.

I'll check the www.stabilus.com website to see if i can figure out what I'm looking at.
The item is about 10 1/4" long
BTW i've never handled one of these parts before. How does it work? I know tht sounds stupip its obviously a shock but when i push on it or apply fore to pull it doesn't move noticably... i'm sure when installed the rear deck lid generates much more leverage/force against it that my had but still I'm wodering if I'm missing something in understanding how it works.
