Need Dash, Rear Deck Shock and Seat Help
I’ve tried doing some group 993 searches but haven’t found what I am looking for can anyone help with any of these?
1) I’m trying to take the lower half of the dash out; I’ve removed the two screws at either end of the lower dash and the ones hidden behind the ashtray, what is still holding it on? What did I miss?
2) I replaced the front hood shocks without any problems but can’t figure our how to get at the rear deck shocks. I’m assuming that on the right side I need to remove the air box but on the left side do I also need to remove the blower in order to get at the pins that hold these in? Is there a step-by-step process for any of this?
HOW can I tell if my seat is in the rear bolted position? If my seat is as far back as possible how much room behind the seat and the rear seat? At 6’6’ I find the car a little tight.

On the lower dash, according to my PET CD it shows bolts on the end under the cover plate, screws in the ashtray and four bolts on the back side of the unit. My guess is that you have to somehow access from under the footwells, through the gauge holes and/or the glove compartment (the interior shell appears that it can be unscrewed and removed).
For the rear shocks, removing the air filter box makes the right one much easier. You should only need to remove the cover, though. On the left, I was able to "one-hand" it without removing the blowers. It's tight, but just take your time. Check out www.p-car.com/diy/ for complete instructions.

The dash bad is bolted through the dash by four bolts in addition to the side cover bolts. IIRC, you'll need to remove both the Radio and the HVAC control unit. To remove the HVAC unit, use a stereo removal tool - or as I did - use four finishing nails. There's also a center support that connects down to the tunnel (those might be the ones you got through the ashtray). This is a great opportunity to remove your Pax airbag if you are so inclined.
The easiest way to remove the rear shocks (don't forget to support your suspension from underneath) is with a small air rachet, if you have one. As others have said, www.p-car.com/diy is a good resource.

HOT RDD,
As for as the seats, they can be unbolted and moved back one inch. Ther is a hole already there to bolt the seat to the new location. If you pull up the carpet in the back, you will see them.

Robin's DIY is informative, however, I found a simplier way to change out the left (driver's) rear deck lid shock. I removed the blower motor completely (took 15 minutes) and gave me plenty of space to work. It only has two hex-head bolts on the left side that hold it in place. A smaller 1/4 rachet with extensions should remove it without much problem. PM me if you still have questions.

I actually have the PET6 CD around here somewhere but never used it because I can't find the 993 or 993 years on it. For some reason it has the 911 up till 1989, it lists the 996 and GT2 and GT3 but nothing in the 993 years. IDEAS? are my file corrupt?

Hot rdd,
You will have to unbolt the complete seat. There is 4 or six allen bolts holding the seat to the floor. You will need to relocate the entire seat assembly back one inch to the new mounting hole. Hope this helps.

REAR DECK SHOCKS on the Cab 993.
If one of you could post the pictures or dimensions of the rear deck shocks on your CAB that would be really helpful. Mine are shot and the dealer keeps sending me replace ments and i think they're shorter on the cab and i cant tell if the ones he sent me are right for the CAb.
