Yes, the 9m 993+2 in testing hit a brick wall at just over 300bhp with stock cats & silencers, yet the power leapt up beyond 350 after I fitted the N-GT system from my RSR. After also testing the N-GT cats with Cargraphic, Techart & standard silencers. we came to the conclusion that the cats were the weakest link.

well, I never got any official dyno test before or after my 100cell cats so I make no claims one way or the other...

only thing I can confirm is they weigh less and make a nicer sound with the stock motor sound mufflers

..and these are officially sold so it's up to the new owner to determine if the car feels any faster after the install (and I guess I'll see if the car feels any slower when I go back to stock cat)

I have the Cargraphic Sport Cats on my 993 and seat of pants feel there is a noticable gain.

Teamed up with my Supercup exhaust it's WAY TOOOOOO LOUD. Which is why Maxflos are going to be going on tomorrow =) I can't wait... I'll be able to hear my radio again!

I intend to do a before and after with my XA22 and will post the results. I am not expecting much, just a improved sound and the knowledge that I have reduced weigth at the end of the pendulum.

The first of the XA22 runs are in, 50-100 mph in 2nd through 4th with a full tank of gas and the car at 3,270 lbs plus myself at 190 lbs.

My engine is a stock engine with Motorsound intake and exhaust and a Euro transmission.

Run #1. 10.16
Run #2. 10.21

I will post my results after I change to the Cargraphic cats.

hmm.... see if you can manage the same temps before and after.. ...cause I know air temp and humidity has an impact as well (or so I'm told)

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to point out that the sound clips that were referred to on my putfile site use Cargraphic sports cats. I can certainly vouch for how good they made my RSRs sound.

Cheers,

David

The results are in.

The Cargraphic are 10.4 lbs lighter, not as much of a weight saving as I had expected.

The XA22 runs were as follows

50-100 mph

Test #1, 9.64
Test #2, 9.82

The best of these is .52 sec quicker than stock, a lot more than I expected.

What does this mean in terms of torque, I don't know but I like it.

Enjoy.

FWIW, the first time I did a timed run I bounced off the rev limiter, the engine just feels much more responsive.

The 9.82 was due to a .20 sec slower shift 3-4, not a real drag racer I guess.

ceboyd, thanks for the deal

your welcome!

I always knew the car felt more responsive with the sport cats... I just never had any firm proof... I can only speculate (or make myself feel better) by saying that is the 3 second difference in my lap times

...but so many factors can play into the 3 second difference (like the fact that I am using a brand new set of MPSCs and last year all season I used only DSSRs)... and the track could be more slick, etc. ....but yesterday no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get below consistant 1:39s at gingerman and usually I got consistant 1:37s with the occasional 1:36 and that laptime seems to elude me this time with stock exhaust... oh well...

.....now I'm wondering how much worse I'll get on laptimes if I sell my re-tuned ECU... EEEEEEEK

That's a pretty impressive improvement! I haven't had any rechipping done yet but my car certainly feels a lot less restricted and much happier to rev. Whether it's any quicker is a matter of debate. It certainly sounds good which is why I fitted my Cargraphic sports cats (plus they were a good price).

Cheers,

David

I don't have rechipping either but I do have an Andial 2 deg timing block in my car. This moves the timing ahead by 2 deg throughout the whole sprectrum unlike a remap which is more specific. I had the timing block before I got the XA22 so I was not able to do before and after runs.
