Default New headlight lens protection ideas?

I just bought new headlight lenses and was wondering what you all use to protect the lenses. I dont want the sandblast look! I did a search and found stone guard mentioned but Im wondering if there is another plastic product that is readily available (I have no idea where to get stone guard). Has anyone had luck with anything else? If not, where can I get stone guard and is it a DIY?

Perfect - almost - looks like the lens covers would cost me close to $40+shipping. The glass lenses were only $55 each! Maybe there is a source for the same stuff without the Griot's markup?
Kelly, I dont want to sound ungrateful - good solution that I may use - just wondering if anyone has found something like this cheaper elsewhere.

If we could only find a source for the raw material. Guaranteed to be 1/3 or less of the price these guys are charging for pre-cut to form. Probably less. Something for me (us) to start researching. I've seen it offerred in sheet form years ago. Anyone else remember it? I'll try to......

I use the product available at www.mats.com (look for Lamp Guard under Products). I have used it on track cars and street cars, some installed for over five years and still looks perfect.

when looking at price, be certain to check the mils of thickness for the product. There are some products being advertised that are 50%, or less, thick than the stuff that really works.

You should use the stuff that is thick enough for headlights, the standard 3M film suitable for paint protection is too thin for headlights...they will prevent chips but not cracks.

The clearmask link given above offers film in different thickness by the foot:

Is there anyone that can beat this pricing?

I have the Griot's garage headlight film and, as David in LA alludes to, it is thick enough to protect fragile headlights.
