Totally get it. Lots of support - never miss it in the parking lot. It will always be a conversation starter (that could be a bad thing as well). Plus - you get to say "jiggowatts" anytime you want....

I'd buy one, only if I had the time & money to put in a better stronger engine. From what I've heard of the cars, they were very weak and generally poor performers, despite looking sporty.

I would buy one in a heart beat, just for the stainless steel skin. I love stainless steel!

:P

Last I checked they are in a collectible status very expensive.

I would love to own a Delorean - they're awesome! Not because they're a great marvel of quality or engineering - but just because they're FREAKING COOL! I would install a Flux Capacitor as soon as I could afford it

Actually, the last 20 years. I used to dream of buying one in the mid 80's.

Still seems to be true today:

see, I consider it HORRIBLE to PAINT a delorean like that yellow on on the link BOOOOOO

...although the limitied GOLD plated ones are interesting (if not a bit TOO BLING --- lol)

....American Express Had 8 Deloreans GOLD plated and given to their top customers IIRC (I know 8 were gold plated.. .have no idea what became of them though)...

Yes, I have driven a 5 speed delorean before... yes they are heavy cars (stainless steel isn't light) and I always thought they were cool as hell and it always amazed me how that one in my parent's neighborhood just keep going and going and NEVER showed any rust (stainless steel after all) BUT they do get a nasty yellow tarnish if not properly cared for..

I'd get one polished and clear coated to help preserve the finish BUT NEVER EVER change the color from stainless steel like that

Expensive, unreliable and slow, but you can wash it with steel wool. Don't go there.

You guys are a being a bunch of wet rags - the Delorean is an awesome piece of automotive history, and is one of the coolest American cars ever built. my opinion of course!
