wiring harness questions
I've read many threads on the topic of the wiring harness recall and wanted to request an update from people. My car (1996 C4S) has not had the recall work performed. I'm an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of person, but every few months I worry about whether I should just get it over with.
While I obviously don't want the car to burn up as a result of the harness problem, it doesn't appear that there are any cases of that actually happening. Most importantly, I am loath to let a dealer work on the car, as I worry about all the other things they might screw up. (The last time I let a dealer work on a car - 9 years ago - they didn't fully re-attach the timing belt cover and a couple of screws were rolling around in there. Good way to blow up an engine.)
Has anyone actually had any problems relating to NOT having the wiring harness corrected? For the people that had it done... any issues?
Thanks,
Steve

Steve - I had mine done last year. To me, the reason to do is that someday the problem might rear its ugly head. If you wait too long, dealer mechanics will be even less familiar with this procedure than they may be now. I had ZERO issues (before OR after). You might want to check around for feedback re various dealers and their experience/expertise at doing the harness.

There was never a harness issue with my 993, but the original owner had it done in 04' as a preventitive measure since it was free.
No problems since then...........ZP44
