Default Suspension Goodies courtesy of Viper Bob

Santa, (I know it was him, even though he was wearing that funny Brown suit in disguise) brought a late Christmas present by today:

Courtesy of Viper Bob (VB Motorsports), my new set of JIC Cross Competition coilovers. 8/12Kg, Monoballs, Camber plates, 15 way adjustable suspension goodness. The two lines you see in the pic are remote adjusters for the rears.

I just went to Bucker-world and picked up the TRG 25/22mm sways (fun to walk around their parts dept.) and Bob is providing custom fabricated rear drop links. And I ordered this beautiful strut brace from Steve Wong yesterday:

Time to start stripping off the old suspension!

Whoa! That strut brace is sweet! Looks like the best design I've seen yet. Even differently sized holes. Very well designed.

Yup... one of the nicer ones I've seen. Do you know the weight of the bar (not that it matters to me), just curious.

Good Luck.

Strut Brace is from 911Chips.com - Steve Wong is a well-respected DME Chip guy. Brace weighs 1lb, 10oz.

If you contact Steve, please tell him Don from the Pelican Forum sent 'ya.

I agree, much nicer looking (and stronger, and lighter) than the stamped metal things out there.

Don,
I have the JIC, same spring rates, and TRG bars with links by Bob also. It is a fantastic set up, you are not going to believe the difference. Do you track the car? Better start, as it will handle too good to just drive on the street. Keep in touch and we can share some set up information.

David - Thanks for the feedback and encouragement. I'm in the middle of building a DE/TT learner car. More info about that in the link in my sig. BTW, I have an '05 Cooper S for a daily driver.

No, the strut brace stiffens the strut towers. Here is a very good thread:

The steering rack brace supports the steering rack in MY95. See this thread:

Don, you will love that suspension. I just picked my car up last Sunday from Precision Motorsports Racing, with a new JIC Cross Competition suspension with the 10k/14k springs and H&R 26/24 adjustable sways installed. We also installed the rear half of a Safety Devices roll cage (so I can easily add the front section if I decide to later), RS door panels, Momo wheel and quick release hub, billet aluminum valve covers and a few other minor tweaks. Can't wait for first track event April 7, 8 & 9!
