Odessey Battery Question

I'm planning on installing an Odessey Battery in my track-oriented 993. It looks like the PC 925 is a common choice. Some have used the 680 though which is 11 pounds lighter.
Two questions:
1) Metal Jacket (MJ) and Brass terminals (T) seem like good options - especially for a track car. Do you need the Positive Terminal left (L) option or are folks rotating the battery 180 degrees?
I don't mind hooking up a trickle charger in the garage. I have a normal stereo without an amp (which will be rarely used or potentially removed), no other electrical accessories other than the stock immobilizer. I may consider leaving the car at an airport parking lot for a week, at which time having the battery maintain a charge would be a good thing. Based upon these parameters, will the 680 will fill the bill?
Thanks,
Don

Instead of going to the 680 to save 11lbs, why don't you just chuck the stereo and use an Optima instead ? Should be around the same final weight.
I ran an Optima gel for 4 seasons & two wrecks and it was still working when I sold that race car without ever being trickled charged.

I don't know the Odyssey, but if it's a vented battery, make SURE you hook up the drain tube or else it WILL leak in your trunk, especially from track events. That's a good reason to use Optima.

Odyssey is a dry cell Eric. No vents or nasty stuff like that.
Just the standard battery works fine. Metal jacket adds weight, and not really necessary. If you are racing and something punctures your battery, you have bigger issues.

ZP44 - the Odessey 680 weighs 15 pounds, the 925MJT is about 26 pounds. The Optima 75/35 is 35 pounds.
Bob - thanks for telling me the metal jacket is not needed, that's a few more pounds. Do you think the 680 will hold a charge for a week?
Odessey batteries are military grade, used in aircraft for example. Here's a picture of the 680:

get the pc925. I know TOO many people that had the 680 with bad results. Dies in a couple of days (sometimes not right away, but soon therafter) Leave the interior / trunk lights on for an hour or two and no start. Save a lot of headaches with the PC925.

I have a 680 in my S4. If l leave it for a week it must be on a trickle charger or its dead.
Still, I like it.
If you want max. light and don't mind the extra hassle get one. Otherwise you are only talking about +10 lbs. for a more substantial battery with better CCP.
