mborkow,
Would you try to have me believe you have never exceeded 100mph in your Porsche on a public highway or street? because if you do, the only person you're BSing is you.

What a total friggin' waste of an awesome car.

Me think's this "passenger" is toast. Bloody facial injuries . . . no blood on the passenger air bag . . . but there is blood on the driver's side air bag . . . and he blew a .09 breathalizer . . . yah right . . . some unknown German national was driving the car and ran into the hills . . . and just disappeared like freaking Grizzly Adams . . . I doubt it. And why didn't he blame it on an unknown Italian national?? Porsche envy???

OK officer, you won't belive what I saw along the curb way,see I was going around 60 mph, and suddenly this blond came running out of nowhere butt naked, after her was a colored guy butt naked too, I thought that they were to rape me or somethig,I felt so nervous that I think of hitting the right pedal, you know the one that accelerates the car,to get the hell out of there, but before that the colored man got into the car pushing me to the passenger seat, you have to belive me officer, then he drove like crazy,he was going very, very fast,I try to grab the steering wheel, instead I grab, you know his thing, and everything broke loose, hitting that pole, yes that one you see there, uff I was lucky I didn't end like the car,you know with my but dripping, you know, you understand right officer?ytry to understand please! Amazing.Sonny.

"Would you try to have me believe you have never exceeded 100mph in your Porsche on a public highway or street"
the only time i have ever gone over 100 mph is when i was being tailgated and quickly wanted to get out the way (he then raced past me at well over 120 mph). regardless of my personal experience, i think there is a big difference between 100 mph and 150+ mph.

So it was somebody elses fault that caused you to exceed 100mph? what a pathetic way to pass the buck.

And yes I agree that there is a difference between 100mph & 150 mph, it's 50mph.....

Brokow,

I would not believe the first numbers put out by the news media or the LASD. The CHP has a Crash Investigative Unit that can determine thow fast the wing nut was traveling. The news media is trying to sell a story and it sounds better at 150 mph rather than 100 or 120, the figure I heard this afternoon.

I would also think that there is going to be a real crackdown in the PCH area, the mountains and the San Fernando Valley.

I too find your story about going 100mph to be total BS. when a guy tailgates me I just change lanes.

this guy will spend some time in the Big House, a good thing.

No matter what you may think, it is much less responsible to speed while trying to get away from a tail-gater! You were going well over the posted speed limit with a MORON on your rear bumper. If your reason for never going fast is that you are concerned for the welfare of others, you should have simply pulled over (and called the police if need be). Invest some time in drivers education and learn to live a little.... in a safe way. As for me, I will be sure to think twice before I get wasted and try to fly my ferrari into a pole at 200mph. I'm sorry for ranting, but I grow increasingly tired of people who think they are the most responsible drivers on the road, yet in the heat of the moment they are willing to do something incredibly stupid that puts everyone at risk.

An A-Hole and a chicken-s*&t, all in one. When they find the loser, he should be shot...not fatally, just painfully.

Very similar to the people who, inspired by this situation, feel compelled to come forth and say" Hey, you know it isn't just this guy who should be getting the attention; I have done this too!" The real difference is that I doubt they ever did.....

Look - we all have exceeded the prevailing motoring laws in our various jurisdictions. There is a difference here - the guy obviously had a few drinks - 0.09 is above the legal alcohol limit in many jurisdictions in the US. When I drive my 200mph toy I am stone cold sober. If I've had a glass of wine - I'll take the Land Rover or call a cab. I don't believe in operating high performace machinery while being impaired.

what i am telling you is that i always keep it under 80 (which is still over the limit). however, there was one occasion where i did touch 100 for a second and it was to get out of the way of someone who who had quickly approached me. the second i could pullover out of the way i was back down to 80. yeah, it was not smart, and in retrospect i should have just waited until i could pull over w/o driving that fast, but it really didn't feel like an option at the time. i suppose i could have just told you i never hit 100 in the car...but i thought i'd tell you the truth (sorry you can't handle it) since you made a point of asking. more to the point, you were equating driving 100 mph with much greater speeds. even if i regularly hit 100 that is not the same as driving 150 mph while drunk.

Zombie,

Assuming he was the driver:
You really think that, just because he owns the car, the guy had a "right" to drive 120-150 mph on THAT road -- with a rise that may have led to the crash, NOTHING separating oncoming traffic lanes and WITH A BAC OF 0.09???

Where, oh where, did Darwin go?
