By alloy do you mean the silver colored "carrera" script or are you talking about metal over plastic?

Careful which Carerra script you buy if you are replacing one on the 993 as not all Carrera script emblems are the same !

993 is the upper one, 996 is the lower one (note the difference in the a's).

964 script is larger still and only available in black.

Yup, I am in the process of removing the black one from the back of my black 964 to install a silver one as I think it looks a great deal better.
