Joe, The breakline fitting has a shoulder and a relief cut. The clip slides into the relief cut and holds the shoulder of the fitting tight against the bracket. I cut the slot in the bracket just wide enough to allow the relief cut in the fitting to pass through.

If you look at my excuse for a drawing, the diameter of the body of the brakeline fitting "A" is the same as the hole in the bracket. The access slot you cut "B" is the same size as the relief cut in the fitting.

I took this picture from Robin's Site at http://p-car.com/diy/sus/

Hey Bob...you are a gold mine of info. What is the T-40 hex socket you mention? Torx? Also, can't I just buy a cheap socket from Ace or Home Depot and cut a window in it with my 4'' angle grinder? Seems like it would cost $5 versus $$60 for the Hazet.

Glad it was helpful. I found a way to torque the strut center nut with simple tools.

In the picture below, the impact socket fits the nut and the visegrip holds the socket. I slipped long allen socket through the impact socket to fit head of the strut shaft. I tightened the nut with a socket wrench and then switched to a Torque Wrench to finish it off. I got the idea from Mark in this thread:

Dudley, I dig that. Simple but effective.

Thanks also to you Jeff: T40 sounded big but apparently it isn't, and is a common tool.

Also, Jeff, I confess that I glommed onto your group suspension buy--I set it up with vBob today. So thanks a ton for organizing that.

With all you guys lowering your cars, I didn't want to be the last man driving around in a jacked up Porsche....

I was just out at the car checking out my headlights (I was going to open them up tonight and clean them but ended up not doing it tonight) and measured the height of my car. Oh my gosh, that thing really is SUV height. I'm looking forward to droppin' her down.

Hope everyone is taking pictures.... Ideal would be with a tripod at the height of the bottom
of the fender lip and maybe 2 feet away. I'm assuming the altitude of the "after" picture is
about 30 mm lower than the height of the "before" picture. It would be really nice to see it
"for real".

And Jeff, the tools are on their way to you. They should help quite a bit....

Wayne, I'm planning on taking a ton of pictures, including the "real" before and afters from the same vantage point--considering another hobby is photography, I can't help myself.

Bob, thanks. Check your email.
