No, You just need the right size. Mine was 21mm so I bought the 2593-21.

Jason, that is a great offer. Much appreciated. However, after talking with viperbob today, I'll probably borrow his.

Thanks again.

That would have been Denny; his son Mark is up front now, though Denny is still in the shop. Squire's would be another good shop.

Talking about Seattle area shops, anyone have any recommendations for alignment/corner balance after putting the suspension in?

VB do we really need all three Hazet socket sizes or just 19mm?

You do not really need the 21mm Hazet. The fronts you can take off with a 21mm and use a vise grip to hold the shaft. Same for the rear. You do NOT want to touch the new shafts, so you will need some way to hold the shaft from turning while tightening the nuts. This means a Hazet, custom made window socket or some other tool....

I used a bit of baling wire to hang the caliper. The brake line can then rest peacefully until you fit the new strut.

Hang the caliper Dave? You don't need to remove the caliper to do a strut change.

Joe - if you cut the new shock at the side of the bracket, you can just pop the original u-clamp back in place just like on the original.

there's a u-clamp? on the p-car site, its difficult to tell from the photo...just looks like a solid metal bracket that you cut a section from to pull the brake line away.

I'm starting to think I might give this project a go and have Custom alignment do the kinematic-toe adjustment, corner balance, etc.

Jeff,

If you are located in the Detroit area and need a hand let me know. Although I have never done this particular job I have tons of experience with DIY's and have access to lots of tools.

Thanks, nine!

I am in the Detroit area.

If nothing else, when it warms up we need to get a group together for a drive. There are a lot of Rennlisters in the area.
