Well . . . I suppose "work" is in the eye of the beholder?? IIRC, the trade off for having the IC in the front is that it's not quite as effective?? Not as much power?? Bob would likely know much better than I.

Scott,

There is a nicely moded Blk/blk 993TT FS by Tom Larkins... why don't you get it and disconnect the front wheels and you'll have a RWD 993TT

Well . . . because then I'd have to buy a hair-dryer . . . and I'd never hear the end of it from Lisa.

I thought your didn't want the lid on the back? If that is the case, you can just stuff a TT motor into any narrow body. So for about $30k you could have you car at 400HP with a normal factory motor. Add another $8K and you too could have 550ish HP. Oh, and you could sell your motor and get money back. About $9K or so... So see, all things are possible...

Just tell Lisa that the kids take after her, and are thus SO SMART they will get scholarships.

VB- As one who has been "thinking" about the protomovie conversion your TT engine swap sounds viable. Do you know of anyone who has done this?

Hi Dan - I know of several folks that have done it. All you need is a good TT motor from a wrecked car with the motor wiring harness and ECU and you are in business. Better yet would be to get the motor/tranny combo (the TT tranny is 40mm longer than even the C4 model). I see these around occasionally from soon to be race cars, and wrecks. They go for around high $teens to low 20s with reasonable mileage.

I dont understand, If you do the engine transplant, then you will need to have a fixed spoiler like a real TT.

I think it would take alot of fabrication to put the intercoolers in the fenders and have a "flat" rear deck.

Where does the IC go to allow for the regular lid?
