It saw the track twice...and made me realize I'm not as good a driver as I thought I was.

Talking Get thee to the track..........................

Have the vulnerable parts covered in 3M material. That is all the exterior preparation you'll need.

Safety Gear: Here is where you have to invest to save your life or serious injury, and even with all the safety gear there are no guarantees:

1. Polyester 5/6 point belts,
2. Roll bar for attaching belts...and for keeping the roof from coming down on your head,
3. Quality light weight helmet,
4. Drivers Suit,
5. Drivers Gloves
6. Drivers shoes and Nomex socks
7. Portable fire extinguisher
8. Kevlar FIA approved seat(s)
9. HANS device
10. Window net
11. Emergency cut off switch

Is this overkill? Not where I run, with the Porsche Owners Club in Socal. They require items 1. through 7 to participate in high speed events. I opted for items 8. through 11. This allows me to particpate in the Race Groups with open passing, anywhere, anytime.

I feel good when I go out on the track knowing that I have done my best to protect myself.
