Default My Targa is for sale. '96 Blk/blk.

I posted the ad in the classifieds, but I thought I would post it here too.

Thanks for spreading the word if you know anyone who is interested. This car is very nice and in great shape.

The ad reads:

Beautiful 1996 Targa 6 speed. 51,000 miles

Black exterior with black leather.

Factory options:
Aluminum shifter, brake handle, and door sills. Glass Targa top with sunshade. Power seats. Originally had Hifi, now has aftermarket stereo with CD changer.

Modifications:
RSR mufflers, Motorsound exhaust tips, ROW MO30 suspension with Bilstein HD shocks (from Gert)

Recent repairs:
New OEM clutch, new OEM brakes and rotors, a/c service (cools well), OEM windshield, hood struts, major service at 45k, Optima battery.

This Targa is clean and needs nothing. The drivetrain is very strong with no CEL or oil consumption. Targa top works flawlessly and has never leaked.

Great example of what a Targa should be. You know we have to ask, why, why, why?

Hey Patrick -

Your care is FINE! I'm quite confident you'll have no trouble finding her a good home. Are you getting a TT . . . going water-pumper . . . or taking a p-car break?? I hope the lack of rain in Phoenix is not messing with your head.

Just curious, but why does a 1996 have a basket handle? I thought Porsche did away with those in mid 1995?

Rob

p.s. Am looking for a zero interest loan as one can't have enough 993s. Nice car... I love those targa wheels.

I am most likely moving on to a 997S, or may just take a break for a while. Not enough time to drive 2 cars and the 993 doesn't work for the day-to-day.

pegasis: the Targa cars have the basket handle because the roof is all glass: no place to mount a 3rd brake light.

Thanks for the complements. It is an awesome car.

A 997S?? I knew it! I've seen you lurking over on the "other" board here & there. If you decide to get one, I better be one of the first people to get a ride!

I personally know Patrick's car and can speak for it's condition - exceptional. If anyone is interested in a fine Targa or simply a 993, you won't be disappointed with this one. It's a classic example of a Rennlist member taking the utmost care of their vehicle.

Patrick ---

I've got an idea (oh boy,THAT could be dangerous)...

Sell it to your Dad!!! That way you know it will ALWAYS be in good hands.

I hate to see you sell your car. It is beautiful!

Thanks for the nice comments. Having sold your 993, you know my thoughts! The 997S is no 993, but it makes for an exciting daily driver.

JoAnne, I don't think I could pry the keys of my Dad's 964 out of his hands! Selling him my car worked once, I don't want to press my luck!

Wow, sad to see it go but hope the 997 works out for ya. I certainly think you wont have trouble finding a respectful owner. Doesnt mean you cant hang out here on the 993 board, right?

Chris,

Don't worry I am not going anywhere. All my friends are on the 993 board. I am afraid things are not quite the same on the 997 board.

This string does not state the price, I am asking $35,000. Very fair price for a well sorted car with the "correct" mods.

Clangjr, no 951 for me but thanks for the nice comment!

Very nice Patrick, that's exactly the car I was looking for last summer, wish I was still looking. It should sell fast. Good luck with the 997S, my buddy just took delivery of his in December, what a car. you'll love it.
