I met Joel recently at Bruce Anderson's shop in Sunnyvale, CA. Evidentally Bruce recommended him directly to the PCA to fill a tech position. From talking to him at length, I can tell you that without question the guy really knows his Porsches, especially 996's. I highly recommend him.

That's funny...I met Joel at Bruce's class in December (he was there picking up tips and was especially interested in the transmissoin class). Anyways we have been having some email conversations about my 993 rebuild over the last few days and up comes this thread. Yes, he is a great source of knowledge and is very open to conversation. Its too bad his shop is across the continent or I would visit and use his services...
Cheers,
Mike

Thanks JoAnne, looks like a really great time. I noticed a 55 356 continental coupe at the end of the gone but not forgotten list, I owned and restored the same model in the early 70s, likewise, my first porsche, brought back some great memories!!

Mike....
I only WISH I was still doing it. I saw Joel at the Parade in Hershey and I told him I'd VOLUNTEER to do it again. Forget the pay (well, maybe not competely). I miss the fun, action, smells of the pits, EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. Even the stress
JoAnne
PS: OMILU...... There are pics of our '55 on the 356 board. Search for Bad Max and you'll find them....
PSS: D.... I don't think Patti and Glyn are related to Joel. I believe they are the VERY, VERY best of Friends, probably as close if not closer than family They are very cool folks...

He is a regular advertiser in the Porsche Panorama. If I lived in this area (God Forbid!)*, Joel's shop is where I'd be going. The phone number listed is 585 624 3899.
I had the opportunity to visit his shop and chat with Joel last December. Extremely knowledgable guy and a very well equipped shop with some incredible cars in there, in addition to Joel's two (2) race cars.
Joel as most know, is a National Technical Advisor to Porsche Club of America. PCA members can access his postings in respons to questions in the Technical Section of the PCA web site. You can't go wrong with Reiser Technik LLC.
*Rochester is not too far from Niagara Fall, Canada...a great place to hang out for a day

Thanks for pointing this out. I'd like to look his shop up and visit when I go back to The Glen this year. I'm from that area originally and my wife is from Rochester. Do you happen to know an address for the shop?

I am aware that this Thread is rather old but I still want to make a reply.
