On reveiwing the PCA website and getting to the 993 tech stuff for thge first time there is a guy called Joel Reiser who seems to know what he is talking about but at the same time is always being careful with what he says....do we know who he is and where he works???

Look at the bios on the PCA site, it will tell you all about Joel. He is in the Northeast. Awesome source of information. He has helped me a few times.

perhaps one little detail should be elaborated upon. Joel has a shop about 30 minutes outside of Rochester NY on the way to Watkins Glen. He can do anything from tire mount and balance to routine maintenance, to preparing a world class race car. Joel still actively races his car(s).

He is a regular advertiser in the Porsche Panorama. His ad lists his e-mail as jmreiser@frontiernet.net Drop him a line, especially if you live in Western New York, the greater Rochester Buffalo area. If I lived in this area (God Forbid!)*, Joel's shop is where I'd be going. The phone number listed is 585 624 3899.

I had the opportunity to visit his shop and chat with Joel last December. Extremely knowledgable guy and a very well equipped shop with some incredible cars in there, in addition to Joel's two (2) race cars.

Joel as most know, is a National Technical Advisor to Porsche Club of America. PCA members can access his postings in respons to questions in the Technical Section of the PCA web site. You can't go wrong with Reiser Technik LLC.

*Rochester is not too far from Niagara Fall, Canada...a great place to hang out for a day

 

Joel has been invaluable to me on many many issues. We are very fortunate to have him in PCA . He is always willing to help - he has no agenda - and his info is dead on.

Not unusual to see cars from our area (4-5hrs away) in Joel's shop. Two friends have their cars there now.

 

He responded to a couple of threads here. Very helpful and a genuine enthusiast.

I know him well

This is a picture of the Reiser Callas Porsche Motorsports team in 1999.
Joel is pictured 3rd from the left. I am the female on the right. I was the Team Operations Manager. We were always flying off somewhere and it was TONS of work, but to this day I always say it was the BEST job I ever had and will probably ever have. I was in Porsche Heaven!!!!!

It was a PLEASURE to work for Joel. I can't tell you how much I learned from both Joel and Tony Callas. Joel's mind is like camera. He remembers everything down to the most minute detail. I'd say he was brilliant, but do me a favor and don't tell him I said that about him. I don't want him to get a fat head or anything like that....
