Default 97 Cab for $75,600 at Barrett-Jackson

A 97 cab sold for $75,600 at Barrett-Jackson. It only had 6k miles but wow. I think we all need to take our cars down there to sell and then buy turbos with the proceeds.

This has to be the car.

I know our cars are nice, but I think someone stepped on their member when they bought it.

I'd be really concerned about a 993 that averaged less than 1k miles per year. I'm sure it's pristine, but nothing in the engine would be fully seated - it's not even really broken in yet. There's probably problems to come...

Wow. That's 993 TT money. The first 993 I've seen that has the same carbon fiber interior that mine does. Although the cab doesn't have carbon fiber door panels.

Why are those floormats so worn-looking? I can't imagine spending that kind of money of a cab just because of low mileage, it's not like these are rare cars... obviously someone who doesn't know anything about the car, and has enough money that it doesn't matter.

In any case, I'm registering my car for next year's Barret Jackson, maybe I can afford an RS with the proceeds

I registered mine for next year's auction. Maybe I'll get $80,000 since I have better looking mats now.

There was one "beige" interior and it was called cashmere for 993's. Savannah beige started with 996's. As info, 997's are getting back to a more cashmere interior color and also brought back other earlier 993 colors like midnite blue metallic. I have no problem with 6K miles if stored to very high standards and was highly maintained properly.

Lots of emotion with B-J to say the least. Guess this 993 with commission and transport cost buyer ~ 85K. Even for a 993 Cab owner, like me, that is high. But if we compare to some Vettes, Hemi's, Z 28's, it becomes relative to the auction market in Scottsdale - that gets higher each year.

What amazes me as much as some of the prices are the new owners just visually inspect, no lifts, no PPI, no test drives for the non-collectable cars. Guess I am missing something as auction is huge success and buyers keep coming back, and maybe those "non-collectable" cars later become collectable, or at least more sort after.
