The Calipers look very nice... nice work Chris.
I should have my car back by the end of next week. Will you still have time to do mine... sticking with Big RED!

exactly how do they need to be prepped for powder-coating. A local shop said the could not find any specialist to dismantle the pistons and other inner workings of the caliper for liability reasons on reassembly. Do you need to fully dismantle for powdercoat? Sorry for being so nieve on this.
Thanks,
Greg

Greg,
I had this done on my caliper, if your piston seals are still in good condition you don't need to rebuild it. The powder coat shop basically masked off the piston area with high temperature round masking plastic, and capped off the bleeder nipples and sand blasted the calipers and powder coated them and had them baked in an oven.

I use to work for a coating company and am wondering two things
1) Is this red powder or Nylon coating?
2) How did Chris get the nice PORSCHE lettering back on?
NICE WORK Chris

Wow, log on to Zennlist today and find this thread.. I kinda chuckled as it caught me off guard
I buy rebuild kits directly from Brembo and StopTech (no affiliation other than a working relationship with Brembo in professional motorsports). Pricey as always, just not as costly as the P-car dealer.
These can be p-coated without disassembly of pistons and seals. Otherwise, pad spring clips, pad abuttment plates, bleeders get removed for gold zinc plating. Some calipers have stainless abuttment plates, which can be zinc plated as well, contrary to popular belief.
I understand the powder I use is polyester based. Not necessarily good for elevated temps, i.e. hard track diving. Autox would be more than fine.
Label is high temp vinyl. Here are some more pics... (sorry for the crappy pics)
