Default OBDII Reader

I just had a CEL come on.

I was wondering whether there is anyone in the South Bay who could check the code for me and turn off that damned light.

Thanks!

I'd be happy to - I'm in the North Bay (Petaluma) if you venture north of the Golden Gate. I may be making a trip to San Carlos later this week and would be happy to meet you somewhere.

You can also go to Autozone and they will loan you a reader for free in the store. But don't get their diagnosis - go to p-car.com to for the code interpretation.

There're are unique OBDII codes which require the Porsche manual and not found
on sites as was referenced above. Check here ( www.systemsc.com/codes.htm )
for some specific Porsche OBDII info.

i have an obdii reader at work, in mountain view. if you want to arrange a time to stop by and borrow it that is cool with me (you can take it for a few weeks in case the CEL comes back on).

I went to Pep Boys and they hooked up the obdII scanner to my sister's honda free of charge, I would assume any Pep Boys or Autozone provides this service... although as soon as you mention "Porsche," they might not want to touch it.

Loren,

You are correct, depending on what code he gets back after it's been read.

Bob,

You mean you don't have a wireless set up for this by now???

I wonder if it is my O2 sensor again.

When are you coming back for a visit?
