lookin' @ special tt's & i found this interesting subject:

No way I would own a fake 959...mostly because I don't really like the real 959. It was an interesting car in its day, but, IMHO, it just seems so dated, '80's and bulky looking.
For $108,000, I can buy a really nice, real Porsche something or other that I don't have to make excuses for.

Nah, if I really wanted a 959, you could get a REAL one for not much more coin. If I really wanted a fast car, there are better ways to spend $110,000 (plus gray market conversion costs - $$)

back-to-back tests with his modified 959 and a new RUF GT2. The RUF turned 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and took 11.9 seconds to reach 100 mph. The 959 goes from a standstill to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and reaches 100 mph in 11.4 seconds. Top speed of the 959 is 215.

Looks pretty damn good to me... even has the rain gutters deleted, looks like this was done right. It's not really a replica, so much as a hybrid 994/959. But I like it. You could use the car at the track and not worry about beating up an ultra-rare supercar.
Personally I wouldn't ever buy something like this, but to each his own. I'm not into replicas. But I think it's not that bad, used factory 959 body panels (I didn't even know you could find these anymore). Anyone know of any real 959s that have sold recently? What's the market like?

It's the best 959 clone I have seen to date ... BUT ... at the end of the day it is a fake ... and for the money there are a lot of other cars out there that would rather have ...

I am with you on this. I see people here trying to convert their cars to RS spec (I may do that, too) and there are a number of '73 RS clones out there.
Without seeing it and lacking the knowledge of the 959, I can't say if it is worth the coin, but it looks good on the surface.
However, you are not that far from getting a real one. Another $100K or so would grab the real thing.
Also, you might consider what $100+K buys in a modern Porsche or a real RS. Just depends on what you want.
Personally, I probably opt to spend my money differently (if I had it), but that doesn't mean everybody should follow my tastes.

Fake, yes, but much better than the 996 clone made from a Toyota that was on this list!
