Talking Muffler sound clips......."SabaCups" New Drive-bys on line for your listen'g pleasure

Please excuse the wonderful video that goes along with this. I was just playing around with my wifes new camera and wanted to see what sort of video/audio quality it has. Anyway, these clips are of the exhaust myself and a buddy put together. I will be posting (hopefully soon) a video of the cars sounds while in motion. Enjoy

they're not small files so give it time to load up.

These come right off the factory pipe with the doughnut end for use with the factory clamp. I don't have pics of the pipe work, because these are just "prototypes" and we just wanted to use regular aluminumized muffler pipe (stainess steel get quite expensive when cutting and wasting!)

Chris...sounds good, I really want to hear a passby at speed or going away under acceleration. Do you just have a pipe that goes from the cats thru these new mufflers? Are these just a small diameter can type muffler? Very interesting.

Randy, I should have the pass by sound clip tomorrow. They are baffle cans, similar to the "supercups", but are a larger diameter which seems to be the key to getting rid of that "burble" and popping sound on decel. They put out a deeper "growl" the the "S.cups" and aren't as high of a pitch scream.

Is your car catless or did you just remove the factory mufflers? Does it feel faster with these?

Cats are in place, this just replaces te factory mufflers. We have new sport cats that we have yet to install which in total will shave a ton of weight off of the factory parts. And yes the motor "spins"up much faster. I need to find out for sure though whether or not a remapping would be necessary or not. There is speculation here lately about the fuel mixture leaning out with the free'r flow, which is not really what would be wanted a WOT.

FYI here's a direct link to the files so people can Save-As:

Any idea of total weight savings over factory?

These mufflers sound really good and I've heard them in person. Understanding that everyones perception and desciption of sound is quite different, I think it's safe to say they are way louder than the RSR mufflers and the Monty mufflers I have on my car.

I don't know how they compare to Fabspeed Maxflow since I've not heard them in person.

They do sound good. What airbox do you have (stock, motorsound, modified, etc.)?

Hey George, by the way as you can see I figured it out but I thank you for the offer from earlier. Ron, thanks for the Kudos. And George, I have the Motorsound package on my car. Eric I have not weighed the two yet, I was waiting to get the sport cat portion of the system built and then weigh it all as a package. But I will tell you that it is a considerable difference to the touch as far as weight is concerned relative to the stockers, like the difference between picking the 'cups up with fingers vs. a fist full with the stock.
I took the car to the track last weekend for three days of full on flogging and they sound absolutely wonderful! Just loud enough to hear with a helmet on and 2 windows down, but not headache loud. An now that they have been heat cycled, they have a cool gold/bronze color to the tips.......very cool

Chris,

Nice job. They sound great and doesn't look bad either. Can't wait to hear them with the sport cats.
