Default Charcoal cannister DIY

Anyone out there ever replaced their charcoal cannister . I've searched this form and P-car, but nothing so far. I don't even know where to start looking for this thing. Any help would be appreciated

Just curious, why do you need to change it out?

I changed mine.. (along with those yellowing plastic parts inside the headlamps in the other thread) ...... I changed it into a part no longer used by my car!!!! and then I'm sure at the recycling plant, they changed it into something else!! I just hooked the whole system and put a filter on the end of the oil breather area (see filter with carbon base) .. Now the big tube that feeds into the airbox is gone, along with the metal tube on the underside.. (the original breather part was toast, view melty pix..)

Coleman,

Wow, talk about different parts. I think the first question is about the charcoal canister for the fuel evapoarative system.. Coleman, I think you are talking about the bellhousing vent that goes up to the air box via the metal tube on the passenger side of the engine tin.. Have I had too much egg nog, or does anyone else see a disconnect?

Yeah, Coleman, that is the clutch vent tube that you removed.

But wasnt the Charcoal canister part of that entire system? I think during the gutting process, I dumped that, as it's gone as well-

No I have no CEL problems, just a slight fuel smell I'm trying to get rid of. I have the new part. It's about twice as big as the large oil filter and is basically a black plastic cannister filled with activated charcoal which absorbs fuel vapors. any ideas where this thing is located ??

Sorry, that has nothing to do with the fuel system.

force4rmr - check the inside the plastic wheel well on the driver's rear...
