Default Repelling mice

I've had a problem with mice during the past two years of winter storage. Last year I tried a rodent repellent made of coyote urine or some such content but the mice came anyway. I purchased a "car jacket" to completely enclose the car for this year only to read in the instructions to not use if the car has a fresh paint job - which it does - because the jacket inhibits the paint from curing.
Any other suggestions about keeping the mice away?
Thank you.

Put a bunch of those enclosed bait traps around the wheels on the floor...they should head in there first.

1) Cats, lots of cats and maybe a few snakes too.
2) Dig a trench around the car, line it with thick plastic and fill it with battery acid
3) Play Celine Dion songs, loudly, through bull horn speakers in Quad Mode.

If the car will be stored at a place where you will frequent, I suggest taking the old-style mousetraps and baiting them with raisins, which mice absolutely love. Most importantly, you want to take a piece of dental floss and tie the raisin to the trigger. In this way, when a mouse bites on the dried fruit, it will pull hard enough on it to trigger the trap. If you use the original type of trap that has a metal trigger, you can bend the trigger to a more vertical position so that it is super sensitive. This method has worked for me for years. I set about half a dozen of these in my garage every winter to remove every last rodent for the season.

My strategy is layered and multi point
first diversion to a secondary target, I leave copious amounts of poison in a pool pump house ~30' from the garage, the rodents go there to dine rather than the garage, it's too far to commute apparntly, dead bodies are usually found in the opposite direction where water can be found. Though the occasional corpse is found under the floor(this can be unpleasant in the warmer months)

second line
poison strategically placed around the exterior of the garage and replaced as needed, but they rarely get this far

third line
poison and sticky traps around the inside perimeter of the garage, never found one here

fourth line
bounce fabric softener sheets liberally sprinkled in, under and around the car, don't know if this works or not but at least the car smells nice in the spring.

Use Bounce dryer sheets... they work wonders to keep mice away. I have used them when storing snowmobiles inside a barn and works like a charm. Much better smell than moth ***** as well.

Sounds crazy but it works...

I take it by this question, that there is no way to put the car in a display setting in your house? I've heard it works great if you have the room.

I use the cat routine. I would display a picture of Harry The Horrible, but he allows no one to take his picture! Our two dogs, both in excellent shape, one at 112lbs and the other at 65lbs, almost run over each other as they try to escape when The Horrible comes around........

Drive the car all year. The mice will never be able to keep up.

First, seal car up tight for areas for like air intakes, exhaust pipes, vents.

Agree with suggestions above, and also bait outside garage. I used moth ***** in socks in engine and trunk area. Bounty drier sheets in interior. Baited traps around walls in garage, and side of tires. Make sure there is no food in garage, like bird food, dried food, cereal, whatever. I try monitoring the garage weekly. Know this over the top, but seen too many cars with extensive damage because of rodent damage.
