Default Imagine Auto Billet 993 Lower Valve Covers Are Here

Well, they are enroute to us from the CNC, so we should have them in hand in a few days. They are based off the same design as our billet 911 and 964 covers. $299 includes both lower valve covers and rubber gaskets. You will reuse your existing hardware. The 911 and 964 covers have been a great success, so ****** up a set of these and stop those oil leaks.

edit: As promised, the 993 pictures....Sorry about the glare.

PM me if you are interested.

Funny thing - I was just admiring a set of these on Ebay! Gorgeous machining.

What's unique about these covers that prevents oil leaks? BTW, they look very nice!

I might be interested. $299 sounds like a good deal. Still, got to ask, any chance of a group buy type thing? TIA

Here is how Stephen Kaspar wrote the original ad for the 911 covers....

For years I have been baffled of the short life the 911 valve covers have. If not the cover, certainly the seals. One wrong tweak and they will leak. To much heat and they will leak, a gouge in the cam housing and they will leak. The list of reasons why they leak is endless. A few years ago while putting my wife's 76 911S together I had an idea that actually worked. To make something old like new. The result was this....a 964 style valve cover in old 911 form. This meant that the unit used a rubber seal instead of graphite or paper. The end result- a new design that regardless of condition the seals will seal the valve cover opening. The seals also could be reused and the cost in the long run was cheaper than replacing valve covers ever so often. That design was set out on CAD then made to life. So we are proud to announce that my wife's car no longer leaks and the introduction of the first ever billet "no leak" valve cover. The kit included to lower valve covers, seals, crush washers and nuts. The valve covers are CNCed billet with a stronger cross-section for support under heat and stress. The inside of the unit is the exact size and placement of the original seal, just in rubber. The units are a direct replacement for all 911s 1968-1989. Correct offset of the bolt holes and height. We can also offer you a twin plug version. These valve covers will truly be the last set you buy. I have tried all the fixes, new covers, the fancy rubber gaskets that are lifetime at a cost of 60.00 a pair and so on. These are a much better solution. These we created in need by someone that owns and loves these cars. That and someone that hates leaks on their garage floor Kit includes 2 valve covers, 2 rubber gaskets, and all washers and nuts. The 964 covers are the same look, with the 3 holes in the covers for the plugs.

Sweet!
Chris, what's the story with these? CNC testing?

Yeah, still evolving these chunks to get more weight out of them, better spark plug fit etc. Its always something

Doc,

If I read your copy correctly, your billets are superior because of the rubber gaskets instead of the stock graphite/paper gaskets? No disrespect intended, just trying to understand.

Having had to replace mine in the last 12 months, the real issue is not so much the gaskets but the plastic-resin valve cover itself.

Yes, a plastic-resin valve cover that sits 1.5" away from the heat exchangers.

I know plastics have come a long way, but the coefficient of thermal expansion between plastic and aluminum is vastly different. Thus the plastic warps and leaks.

If I had not done mine recently, I'd jump on a pair of these.

These look great but for me I have never had a leak on these gaskets so I am not sure what the benefit really is? Are they lighter?

Eric, the 964 rubber gaskets we use are superior to the paper gaskets, because as was mentioned, when the cover warps slightly due to the heat of the engine/heat exchangers, the paper gasket can not accomidate at all...that is, there is no give, once the cover moves slightly, paper is going to leak. Rubber on the other hand can stand up to a cover slightly warping. The billet covers will not warp, but we thought it best to use the 964 rubber gasket in there, no only for the ease of fitment, but also to ensure no leaks.

As stated above,on 993s the stock covers are a composite material that will warp eventually. If you track youe 993 hard, you will have leaks.

These 993 covers won't have the warping problem.......

While I do like the look of the valve covers, and certainly the potential of the warping issue should indeed be corrected, are the 993 valve cover seals not rubber already?

Sure looked like it when I changed my last set...

Cheers;
Eric
