WARNING FRAUD!! Response from BoostCrazy....and a resolution.

I hope mine don't look like that already. I did have a rear fail after a very short time (dumped all of its oil all over the garage floor) but never did learn why. It got fixed and no problems since (fingers-crossed).

Another possible solution is a poor heat treat on the part of JIC or their supplier. If the spec was not met then one could end up with a 'soft' shock rod. That in turn could be scored by dust and dirt on the seal. Think of a rod at say 85 - 95 RB and rubbing it with a piece of 80 grit paper at shock velocity. Wouldn't take long to wear it down.

Edward..
Sorry, don't agree with you man... It's the consumers responsibility to do their homework, in this community and everywhere else..
This is not a church group or synagogue.. it's a car enthusiast site..

I will say one last thing..
Have read SIMON'S response and post of the pictures and terms of his resolution..
For the record: SIMON, I think your an ***...
1) you should have had your cousin check the gear.
2) you should have checked the gear when you got it.
3) you should not have commited fraud against the CC company.
4) you have no business holding both the money and the parts and demanding shipping fees. IT IS YOUR FAULT, YOU DID NOT CHECK, YOU DID NOT RAISE THE ISSUE IN A TIMELY MANNER. YOU ACTED POORLY ON ALL FRONTS OF THIS SITUATION..
You have no ground to stand on........
KEEP THE PARTS, DON'T PAY FOR THE SHIPPING and send MICHAELM his money... Otherwise you are worse than any scum I have ever done business with... I understand you might be upset about the condition of the parts but you could have avoided this problem with a little more homework.

but, I do think that had YOU bought the item in question, and IT was not up to par........we would be seeing..............and reading.......what?

Hey Phil,
Maybe your right.. I have never bought, sold or traded anything on a internet newsgroup, EVER.. Don't think I ever will after this "situation"
Not saying that a seller has the right to misrepresent their wares either. It is the sellers responsibility to give " FULL DISCLOSURE" and it is the buyers responsibility to have a **note** in the sales receipt stating the purchase is contingent on a "TIMELY INSPECTION" of the goods.
- These are all things that should be worked out before the sale, not after.
for example..
Buyer has two days from delivery to visually inspect the equipment and ask for a return if said equipment is not in "stated condition"
When I bought my car from N. Carolina (I was living in Miami, Fl) I made a deal with the owner because I was buying the car sight unseen. If I was not happy with the car, I had two days to send it back **But I had to pay for shipping** I took the chance that I might have to pay for shipping a car I didn't want back to N. Carolina. But that was a chance I was willing to take. Luckily it worked out.. (WITH MANY THANKS TO THE RENNLIST COMMUNITY ON ALL THEIR ADVICE AND SUPPORT)
I really wish I could hold the RENNLIST community to a higher standard than the rest of the free capitalist world, unfortunately, I don't. The rules of smart business need to exist everywhere.
I have met a handful of Rennlisters in my day.. All seemed like great peeps. However, I don't know their ethics, morals, scruples, etc. I certainley would never buy used parts from someone in AUSTRALIA or any other county 1/2 way round the world.
Point is: We are all here to help one another, learn from one another, share with one another. But that does not mean this site is free from unscrupulus people.
-- I don't even know what I'm talking about anymore so I'm just going to shut up now. I love this site.. Really enjoy the friendships that I have made and do not want to instill "my rules of business" on any one else. I hope Simon and MichaelM work this out and we can all march forward together...
Peace, love, happiness.... This is a great community and we should do whatever we can to keep it great...

i think that the most important point in all this is that there are two sides to every story. i was personally a little surprised to read all the dog piling with absolutely no understanding of both sides...

Wow....all this just makes me very circumspect about buying stuff here...well expensive stuff anyway....I have done a few deals...kelly kim, dannen goetze, frank, (all first rate and guys I trust having done some deals with them) for ducts, lights, clear sides etc - all low cost stuff...and nothing really has gone wrong but I can now see its an "accident waiting to happen"...this is just a wake up call to everybody....make sure you know what you are buying and that if the products are not as represented you have a get out !
Ps, clears were installed last night and all is beautiful...

If we're all just untrustworthy pragmatists, then this community will be just like any other. Or if we try to uphold higher standards, try to be honest in our dealings, treat one another like gentlemen and police those who do not, then, with a some exceptions, maybe this place can be better than the norm. It's up to us.

Keep in mind also that many will choose to keep private their negative
transactions made through Rennlisters simply to avoid the drama that arises
from posting it on the board.
I had a transaction where I sent the seller a money order and neither received the item nor was my money order returned. In that transaction, the seller lied and stated that he no longer had the item when his 993 was involved in a rear end collision. He later admitted he lied about the 993 being involved in a collision when I indicated I had friends in the immediate area that might help him with the repair. After much hassle, I was able to have the money order refunded through the issuing merchant. And this was someone that has been on the board for years!
You just need to be careful with any transaction these days.

Whether is it a church, synagogue, our workplace, or this community, it is our presence and our conduct that sets the standard.
As for me, I will act according to my better judgment. And for the record, it is through the exemplary and generous behavior of many, many others here on this board, consistently over the years, that I continue to frequent this board, and will continue in my small way to contribute to maintaining the higher standard of conduct in this community.

I would be interested in hearing an official response for JIC as to the quality issues. I have always heard that the JIC Cross coil-overs were excellent quality. I am a bit surprised by the problems and wonder if these shocks were simply defective.
