a year and a half ago, when i was out getting quotes for my top end rebuild (due to SAI/CEL issues) one of the garages i went to had told me they had seen the SAI/CEL problem on a 993 with as little as 22k miles on the clock...

My bad, I think it was just a top end rebuild due to valve guides. The clutch was slipping a bit, that's why they changed it out. I think he put fresh brakes and rotors on it recently as well. The car is really a garage queen.

Thanks Chris.... The top end rebuild makes more sense given the driving conditions texas911 vaguely references...... I was reading the post literally and thought it was a total rebuild or replacement engine.

The clutch makes perfect sense.

Hey Scott....isn't a man's happiness DIRECTLY proportional to the quantity of internal combustion engines he owns?

Ha! It depends on their running condition at the time.
