Default 993 Battery

I just recently changed my battery to an Optima and I noticed that there was no battery tray. I have a 1995 993, did they come with a battery tray?

The red top I installed earlier this year bolted right in. It was a nice fit given an alternative component.

yes, Optima is set up in such a way that you can mount it sideways and not worry about acid leak issues...

Audiophiles like to use them inside the car for extra power..

If you mount them sideways, be doubly certain that they are not going to come loose and move. A friend had one shift at Lime Rock...the contacts found their way to some metal, starting a nice fire in the trunk next to the gas tank. He got out and got the fire out before serious damage was done, however, since his car is the Chaquita Banana Car, he had to endure many Bananas Flambe, Bananas Foster, etc. jokes for quite a while.......
