Default Help- How to remove wheel lug lock with out the key

Well, I got ready to remove the wheels on my 95 993 to install Ruf wheels. I noticed there is an original lock lug and I can not find the lock lug socket to remove it. Does any one have any ideas on how to remove this lock lug nut? Thanks in advance..AL

Go to the dealer. They usually have a complete set of key sockets. You will likely need to prove you are the owner of the car. I had to do this once before.

Find another 993 in your area and borrow theirs.

Many p-car specialty private shops will have a set also. Unfortunately there are a number of different locks, so any 993 might not work.

There are a number of different keys, so one 993 key will not necessarily fit another 993 lug.

Hi Jeff, I do not know what number socket I need. How could I find out? I checked the owners manual and did not see a number anywhere. Thanks

Mine is still in it's plastic bag, which has the number printed on a label on the outside. I was hoping you still had your bag. If we had the same number, I'd run it over to you.

Jeff, The PO had new bridgestone so3 installed and I am thinking they never put the key back in the glove compartment. There is an empty bag in the glove compartment which says Porsche 016. Could this be the number?

Make sure they didn't put it in the little poclet inside the trunk- that's where mine always ends up.
