Compressor, tools and jack original location help please.
Dear Rennlisters...I bought my car missing most of the "under the hood" accessories...I just got a beautiful air compressor and I'd love to know how is the lay out of an original car...where is the appropriate location for jack? I assume the compressor goes inside the spare tire...
Another question...does these cars came with a tool bag? Probably yes...the only one I found was a long screw driver...the bag is gonne...any advices about where to get a replacement...LA dismantler maybe...
Oh boy...it hurts being an originality freak!!!! :- )
Thanks in advance...
PS. A picture with the original location of the accessories would be a must... thanks guys...

yes, the compressor goes inside the spare tire. the tool kit (which is in a rolled up pouch) and the jack goes in the cavity behind the front bumper. depending on what you can buy the OEM kit for, IMHO you'd probably be better off putting together your own toolkit using better quality tools...everything is replaceable except for the towing hook IIRC.

My jack is in a canvas bag that sits in front of the spare tire in the bumper cavity, my compressor and plastic ground sheet (yes, plastic sheet is Porsche original) are stored in the spare tire, and the tool bag is tied in the front bumper where the first aid kit is installed on European cars. If you have the first aid kit, then the tool bag goes in the front bumper cavity (in front of spare tire) along with the jack.
Cheers;
Eric
P.S. I was only missing the tow hook... It can be had at a dealer for about $20.00cdn so I would imagine its only about $15.00us.

I never got the compressor when I bought my car new... I wonder what else I never got... good thing my car is a track car and not a concourse car... I'd be so mad that all this stuff I was supposed to get wasn't included...

Thanks a lot for the inputs...I'm not trying to get a concours car as I drive them too much to keep the car in such shape...I just like to have the p-cars complete as they left factory! It took me 6 months to get a "deluxe horn ring" for my 1965 356C...and the car was a driver, but left factory with one... we are crazy or what?

Pedro,
When I bought mine, it didn't have the tools either. I am a freak like you.... I bought the original from the stealer, they are as Jeff says, different than the one you have pictured.
The original toolkit is not worth the asking $, the only 2 things that is really unique is the tow hook and the tool for replacing the belts. Other than that, it is probably cheaper to build your own kit.
I have seen the original toolkit on eBay from time to time pop up for around $250 or so.

Hey Jeff...thanks a lot...I had a feeling this set was missing something!
Hi Al...you mean the original jack is more like decoration? It really looks fragile to me...what do you guys have in the truck for an emergency...maybe a scissor jack...
Thanks Cabrio993 (man, I like your car...)...I'll have your advice in mind...
If anybody could post a pic from and original and complete set, would be great...what I really need now is the LUG WRENCH....original or not, I better have one in the trunk! ;- )

Pedro,
I keep a jack from my old 944 (I had 2) in the 993. It is a scissor jack. I think the concensus on the list is to call AAA-several past threads on this. I also have the original tool set, but being a Rennlist junckie I have a small bag with other tools (doesn't everyone keep a torque wrench with them???) and cleaning gear in the trunk.

Your tool kit looks original to me and you already have the lug wrench there it is the long cylindrical looking device with the two different sized "sockets" at either end and then you use the bar through the holes to act as a lever.
I have had a 95 993 and a 97 993TT and they both have the same tool kit.
It looks all there no need to worry.

Tool kit looks like mine.
Compressor appears larger than what I have + mine is a cotton bag (baby s### green) and rests inside the rim of my overturned space rim... all held together with a rubber strap.

Thanks guys... the pictured kit is not mine...just an Internet picture I got for guidance...I agree with the AAA flat bed truck option but I like to be prepared anyways! Probably the Europe accessories are slightly different...I think I'll get a scissor jack from some 944 on eBay...around $30 last time I saw...
I really appreciate the feedback...
