Proud new owner of 98c2s
Hi boys, I just received my first Porsche, a black on black 98 c2s with 21k miles. Its absolutely mint, I purchased it on ebay, and had it delivered from New York to my town Vancouver BC. I love it!!
I took about 6 months to find the car or my dreams. I was tossed between getting a 997 or a 993. The money was not a factor in my decision. After test driving both cars, I liked the 993 much better!
My take
993: looks alot beter then the 997 (mayby sexiest car ever built!?)
Love the old school interior, looks and feels solid
The road feel and handling is amazing
997: decent looking
faster then 993
feels kinda like a lexus, and you dont feel connected to the road.
Ill post pics next time

Me too...
It gets delivered next week. I know how you feel. I have a 996TT but after searching for, looking at, and driving 993s for a long time there just is no comparison. Yes, the 993 is way down on power but that's not the point in my mind. The old saying they do not make them like they used to really applies here.
Good luck with your car and post some images.

I think if you look back on this decision five years from now, you will see that your 1998 C2S will be worth a lot more money than a 2005 997. I know money wasn't a factor, but its nice to know that you have a car with one of the best resale values out there. Congratulations on your purchase, and welcome aboard.

What a great decision. If needed you can let your wife know that you bought one of the soon to be most collectable later model Porsche's available.
Can't wait to see pics. Mine is just turning 24,ooo miles and loving all of the 5000 I have put on.

That's exactly how I feel about the 993s...don't really care about what came next...
Congratulations and welcome...

Welcome. Because your OEM shocks are approaching toast, you need to upgrade your suspension and lower it. Oh excuse me, you did not post pics yet. Anyway, excellent choice, you will love it.
