190 mph Yikes.
When I was 22 I drove my father's 300Z TT at 158 mph. Looking back on that, I thought I was insane.
I don't think I would have the guts to do 190 mph--on a public highway or even on the track.
I'm a wimp.

EDIT - BTW, there are a ton of Porsche videos on Putfile.com. Just do a search for Porsche using the search function. Pretty interesting.

damn that's fast. i don't mean to condone such driving, but since the video is already there, watching it don't hurt. i've driven fast before- nothing close to that, but i have tested my 993 to the upper limits of 6th gear and won't do it again. that's just plain reckless. i wish that music wasn't on so we could hear that motor.

The few Gumball stickered cars I saw this year at the Monaco GP were driven by a**holes and filled with similar minded passengers. I'm sure this does not speak for all, or even most, of those who do participate in the Gumball events but I can only report what I saw.
Yes, it takes guts to drive that fast on a public road but not much skill is involved. Any idiot, esp. in a car as stable as a 996TT, can point the wheel straight and jam on the gas.
Now, the guy in the Mini who beat the 993, now that's skill!
However, I did meet a really cute girl driving a Baby Blue 360 Spyder near Monaco but alas, she already had a companion

When I visted the Ruf shop in Mindelheim, one of their techs took me for a ride and we were at 330 kmh when I opened my eyes. We were not on a highway either, but rather on the back road by the shop, where the speed limit was 100 kmh. I needed a cigarette and a new pair of shorts after that ride.
