Hey "Livefreeandrive" ....
No - that is not wide enough ! You know you keep checking out the back of my car ......

Why does your signature say...."For sale"....? I did not realize you were selling.

Paul, it is true, I have been checking out your rear end for a while now. I went down to Nashua to buy some parts for my wife's allroad and saw a black 02 C4S. Harry ambushed me and sang out some sweet numbers so I decided to see if there was any interest in my car. I received 5 pms within an hour. My car is very set up well for DE and what not but I need to drive something a little more comfortable for work occasionally. The 18s with the M030 Bilstein set up is a little rugged. Stay tuned?

Mark-

I live in Boca. Please don't go off half cocked on this!. It sounds like you want to jump very quickly. Be patient. Send me a PM, I'd be happy to give a second opinion on anything you find locally.

Mark, we'd love to hear more about this. It seems awfully fast, but I hope everything works out.

Yeah, I'd be interested in what the "issues" are too. My PO was asking similar money back last year (actually a few dollars more is where he started). He ended up almost 10 grand off what he was asking originally.......course it sat for a while first!
Cars with issues should be had cheap so you don't get stuck with high dollar repairs. Please let us know what the issues where.

Well, we were posting at the same time.

Mark, honestly, that sounds like more than $10,000 worth of fixes, especially when you say "ENGINE & GEAR BOX HAS TO BE REMOVED & OVERHAUL" +.

There are a lot of experienced people here. Sit tight for a bit and gather more thoughts before pulling the trigger....much more.

Those are some major league issues. Why the repaint? Full body or just bumper respray? Overhaul both engine and gearbox? Even if just the engine, why?

IMHO, I would say this is not worth the trouble (since you asked). There are a lot of 993s out there with much less backstory.

NO. It's more than 10k, in any case and you'd be at least 45k into a 40k (tops) car.

Take a look at Pete in DC's car listed in another thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...9&page=1&pp=15 . It's available right now, at the same price as the sketchy car you just saw, but it's all sorted out. The only things you won't get are the really wide rear and big reds...

Yikes Mark, that sounds like a lot of i$$ue$ (issues). If your estimate of 10k to get the car right is correct (I think you're low. New top end alone ~6-8k), will it be THE car you have been waiting for?
Most come to the conclusion that it's better to spend the extra $ up front to get a nice example than to try to get one "cheap" and dump a boat load of money into it.

Mark,

Try looking in the rennlist classifieds. I may be wrong, but Rennlisters take a fierce pride in their cars and if I were looking for a well sorted out Pcar, this is where I would be searching.

Good luck... I would pass on the car in question.. too many red flags that can easily/rapidly deplete your wallet.
