Al, I would like to know what you did to attach the power connections to your new seats. I can kinda see in one photo it looks as though you stripped some wires and pluged them in, but I can't be for certain.

Marv, if you are interested in a pair, send me a PM. After 30 straight hours of hunting, I know where to point you. And no, the average price I've found is between $1,900 to $2,000. I got mine for $2,200 shipped and painted to my liking.
Take THAT 993 sport seats!!!! ... and some people say the 996 never gave us anything... HA!

leland pate,
When you disconnect the original seats. You will see three wires going to the rectangular plug one red, one purple and one brown. If you only have an electric back rest like I did on the sport seats . You will see two male plugs under the sport seats. If you cut the thin section (approx 1/2 inch) from this plugs, they will plug right onto the sockets of the original rectangular electrical plugs from the 993. Plug the red Positive to the red and brown being negative to the brown. The purple only has power when the ignition is on. So you would use this socket if the sport seats had heat. Hope this helps..AL

Al - great job and a great help.
You guys should put posts on the 996 and gt3 board to find people who want to loose their 996 sport seats.
As an alternative, i did a group buy on the recaro leather topline seats. I cant recommend them enough - very comfy, heat, vented, and really hold you better than a porsche sport seat. If you can do w/o the seat having a porsche crest, i think the recaro is a no brainer.

Calling out to Al....
Al I sent you a PM and an email as well. I spent about 6 hours yesterday installing the seats - but am running into a couple of issues....
Namely -
1) Cannot get the passenger side electric circuits to work
2) How did you bolt in the Front side of the railing? The 996 seats have a CURVE at the end of the railing where supposedly the screws go in, but on the 993 floor its a FLAT mount.
3) Did you have to buy the seat belt clamps for the 996 seats or did they come with your seats...i am sure you couldnt have swapped them from your 993 seats.
Please respond to my private message or.... email me - andykhokhar@yahoo.com
Thanks!
