Recommendations for PPI in Atlanta area
Looking closely at a '95 993 C2 in the Atlanta area. Would prefer to do a PPI
with Rennlisted recommended shop. I want to avoid a dealership. Biggest
areas of concern are leak-down with complete inspection of front end steering rack, ball joints, intergrity of underpanels, door straps, any signs of rainwater
leakeage etc.
Thanks,

Three Wheelin'
Performance Imports seems to be a recommended shop--it's in Norcross, GA [just north of Atlanta]. do a search for Performance Imports and I bet you can get their info...I took my 996 there a few times and they did a good job with the work I used them for. When I need my 45K mile service soon that is where I will be taking the 993 as well most likely. They do a lot of race prep work and seem to have a good amount of air cooled 911s in their garages most days.

Steve,
I second ther recommendation for Performance Imports; they've taken care of my car several times and I've known Peter & Bob for awhile; they're both great guys and are absolute experts on these cars.
Best,
Rick

Cole & Rick,
I spoke to Matt at Performance. Very knowledgeable and great to work with, he knew exactly what
I was looking for in the PPI. Have it scheduled for Friday. I'll keep you informed.
Thanks for the referral.

Looking at a '95 Blk/Blk, 54K miles, was listed on Ebay Item number: 4561412720
Seller is motivated. 3 or 4th owner, the car originated in IL went to CA, ID, AZ and
now GA. Moving slowly on this one given the history, yet, all records seem accurate.
Has had wiring harness recall completed. 18" wheels (nice but not Porsche) and unusual
tires (Hancook Ventus:anyone know this brand?), Euro turbo front bumper with clear side markers, lowered, nothing else special. Needs, IMHO, 60K before or immediately after purchase. If the price
is right and the PPI is clean I may be back in the saddle again.

Hi Jeff,
Incredible car.....sleeper HP surprises the hell out of the Mustang and Camaro guys.....love it!!!
Would love to put a 993TT next to it but bugdet constraints are prohibiting such a move.... 2 college
tutions and other toys........ Nothing wrong with the 993C2 until cash flow increases in a more positive
direction.

Steve, we spoke about the black Carrera S in NJ a couple of months back. Back to the E55, I had a souped up Mustang check me out the other day and I hurt his feelings really bad. I could see the smoke coming out his ears.

Yep Performance Imports. Steve or Matt will probably do the PPI. Both excellent. Bob, one of the owners, is big time into Porsche racing. He was lead mechanic for the Kevin Buckler (TRG) team that won Le Mans a few years back. I don't think they will let you down. Tell Peter how deep you want them to look. They may even know this car but they definitely know air cooled Porsches.
