A fancy antenna - what do you think?

I love seeing pictures being posted on this forum, so here are a couple... Well, nothing really fancy here but I wanted to add a little added appearance to my Targa. I've mounted an antenna similar to those that we see a lot on late German cars nowadays... It's non-functional and just for looks, but it is a real antenna made by a well known German auto maker. I thinks it adds a little something different to the car. What do you guys think?

I've always been a sucker for roof mounted antennas going back to the late '80s VW products.
With the targa top it looks pretty clean. On a coupe it would like a little odd.
If it were functional I'd like it a whole lot more.
The reception in our cars is terrible. If you could use this as a second antenna, it would be kewl.

Well, designers that I know wince at putting anything like that on cars, unless, you know... it's needed. So, as it's moot, then I don't get it, unless you want people to think you've got Nav or whatever. I think that's where the "poser" idea crept in. I must say, it's very LA, as useless appendages abound here.
Btw, very nice Targa.

Well concerning the look... not a lot to say, it's not damaging!
But I would be ennoyed to answer a friend stupid question: "Oh what is this for?"...
On the other hand, I'm not sure that if you connect you radio on it you'll have a better reception. All antennas are calculated for the job they have to do. In your case, I think it's a gsm antenna.
Last word: if you like it, keep it!
