What about performance- how does this seem to affect?
At the least I would hope it would do no harm.
Real dyno?
Butt dyno?

I don't know... but if I could afford a GT3, I wouldn't be looking to hack up a set of stock pipes.

If you have an inlet and outlet pipe that run sort of parallel'ish you should be able to create a by-pass pipe.

However, the term "LPMM" is Trademarked and strictly exempts the waterpumpers from laying claim on the name.

Ok, I made that part up, but it should still work.

I guess I deserve the price comment.

I was curious b/c my friend's GT3 has 2 of the 3 baffles removed from his mufflers and it's loud as hell. Too loud for certain sound limits at events.

Likewise muffler bypass pipes, but I love the pops and burbles and thought this might be the best of both worlds.

Hey you air cooled guys thought of everything first, I'd be stupid not to take advice from you.

Leland, would this work with fabspeed maxflows (can't remember if there are two parallel pips on their mufflers)? Tx RK

I had the same thing done internally with a stainless welder. But it cost $250 so you have the more cost effective solution.

Hey Duane, so would you think the internal job is about the same (in terms of volume) as the external? I'm interested in doing it but would prefer to waste the time doing it inside to preserve stock look (even if you can't see it). Also - did you use 2" pipes across?

This is where I'm going..

My mufflers, so far, is opened and welded with straight pipes inside.

The resault not so much different from stock muffler.

Will add the LPMM and hopefully post a video.

This is a blast from the past!

I still find most of the volume increase comes from using sport cats. That has been my experience.

I did the LPMM on my car several years ago. As mentioned, the key to an "even" sound is carefully matching the shape of the openings you cut in the inlet and outlet pipes to the size/shape of the crosspipes. You will notice an increase in volume.

So what you meen is it's important to do the hole size in the mufflers so close the pipesize you are welding as close as you can?

(My english is not the best, that's why I'm asking..)

Going to start today. What is the best way to make the bypass tube fit to the exhaust pipes?

Not easy to draw a circular line, when the object is round to.

I would like to fit them as good as possible before I weld it.
