Aluminum Gauge Ring GB - Details Here (CLOSED)
Fellow Rennlisters,
First off I would like to thank ‘Wsp964’ (aka ‘Wsp993’) for posting pictures of the aluminum gauge rings that we are soon to get.
Here are the group-buy details:
WHAT ARE THEY?
These are a set of 5 aluminum rings (one for each gauge) that provides a modest accent to your 993 interior. These are a bit different than others as they fit inside of the gauge ring rather than over the bezel.
Here are some pictures (courtesy of 'Wsp964')…
Click here for more pictures
FROM WHAT VENDOR?
The gauge rings are from a company in Germany (www.armaturenringe.de). The site is in all German so unless you can read German, it is a bit difficult for us Yanks to navigate through.
OK...HOW MUCH ARE THEY??
I emailed the owner of the company, Holger Wienhoven (same handle) to see if he would be interested in a Rennlist group buy and he has graciously accepted.
So here's the deal...if we get 20 or more orders, the price to us will be discounted 15% which comes out to $60.00 SHIPPED.
Here's how to get 'IN' on the group-buy:
The replies with "IN" to this thread should coincide with the emails I receive. I will try my best to cross reference between my emails and the replies here, in case someone forgets to email, but replies here or vice versa.
Just to keep things simple, for now, I will see if we can get 20 orders from this board and then I will see if other boards would be interested.
Disclaimer: This is the first group-buy I am organizing so please bear with me and don't hesitate to let me know if I missed something. Thanks.

- Reply to this thread that you are "IN".
- Send me an email with your 1) shipping address 2) With the subject heading of "Rennlist Group-Buy" to: Arrwin_Yip'at'MSN'dot'COM.
Once we receive 20 orders, I will send a reply confirmation to each of the emails I have received and will then provide payment details (PayPal much preferred) or by check. Once I receive all the funds, I will PayPal one transaction to Holger along with the your mailing addresses in one email. As you can see, streamlining everything through PayPal will be a lot more efficient both in and out.

Arrwin;
Thanks for arranging this... Two quick questions:
1. Whats the finish on these rings? Satin/raw aluminum? I thought these came in high polished, matte, titanium, etc, but perhaps I'm getting this confused with another supplier.
2. Since they will be shipping out to us individually can we arrange shipping to Ontario, Canada? I don't imagine it will be any more expensive then to the US...
Cheers;
Eric

I'm sure you already know, but these rings will work in most pre-993 911s.
Thanks.

1. Yes...i think you have it confused with Cup-Sport, who supplies them in three different finishes, which another fellow Rennlist member just purchased. The vendor we are purchaseing from only supplies them in the finish you see in the pics above.
2. I confirmed with Holger and it will be no problem shipping to Canada. Price remains the same worldwide.
So just email me if you'd like a set. Thanks.

Count me "in" shipping address to follow via email.
By the way, how long do you anticipate waiting to gain 20? And did you discuss what happens if we don't get 20? Does the price just revert back? I think they are $63 without shipping correct? As long as things usually take to ship from Europe, it'd be nice to get the order in soon.

Chris,
As I learned long ago with Group Buys... if you're in a rush, this is not the way to buy stuff. Not that your advice was bad... it's just what I've noticed. My .02 coconuts.

No, you're right Kelly.....apply that to anything really. I was just curious. If its going to be a month or something, its just worth paying for shipping now. We're only talking a few dollars (15% of $63...what 10 bucks). It could be my "happy birthday to me" now.
