Default who has the most miles on their 993?

Just wondering who has the most mileage here on their 993. I've heard of older 911s going over 300k on original motors and trans, has anyone done that in a 993? Being that our cars can be 11 years old now, 300k is about 27k a year which we all do in our other cars and isn't impossible to do in a 993. I've got 91k on my 96 cab & plan on rolling that odometer into way higher digits.

It would be also interesting to see what work had to be done to reach those high mileage engines. Given the valve guide issues etc. it must be pretty unusual to see a 300K 993 engine without some internal work...must be all highway at good low temps.

Cheers,

Mike

I know a 993 RS which went to 290000 kms. Was bought for Euros 39000 by a smart dealer, had a top end done and is now for sale again at Euros 55000!

89K miles on my '95 993; orig. clutch and tranny, no oil leaks. Oil/filters get changed every 6K miles (Mobil 1 0W-40). No daily driving; when I do drive it, it's probably for > 1 hour continuous on interstates or back country roads. About 10-12 track days and 5 autocross days a year.

MY 1995 has 96K miles, orig clutch, and never had any engine/tranny work. I drive it daily and give her 2x/year oil changes and yearly trans oil changes. Been tracked (timetrialed) about 5-7 events/year for the last 4 years, with the exception of the last 6 months. From the street to the track, it has been, and continues to be, a truly amazing car!

At least 115,000 miles, but I'm just guessing.

On a completely unrelated note you can look for my odometer gear replacement DIY coming out in about a week.

Default 142K

I have 142K on my '95 C2 Coupe. The original clutch was replaced at 140K or three months ago. Car is driven daily to work about 30 miles round trip. Will probably have the engine rebuilt early next year.

Bought the car in May 2000 with 40K.

Replaced wiring harness (twice, don't ask... ), steering rack, clutch, starter and spark plug wires.

But I still love her and always will.

101K on my '97. Original motor/tranny, second clutch by PO at 70K'ish. No under tray (took it off). Have only had to do, complete brakes (rotors/pads) V.cover gaskets and 3 exhaust lifters to make it right. Oh and the CEL is on and doesn't like staying off when I reset it! I'll get to the SAI some day.

99K on my 95. I've replaced the steering rack (twice), clutch, flywheel, and put PSS9s in. I drive it everyday, and expect to be over 100K in a few weeks. I consume about a quart of oil every 2K or so. I've replaced the valve cover gaskets a few times, but since I've removed the pan under the engine, I haven't had to replace them yet.

87K on my '95 -- she just purrrss...burns no oil, and is now a Sunday funday car. Grin. Replaced the clutch at 80K with a LWF/RS. Shocks at 75K with ROW030/HDs. Other than that, she's stock.

Only 46K here, but in the last 4500 miles, I have bought three sets of tires (last set still like new, thank goodness), two sets of brake pads. Original clutch and a year and a half ago I replaced my springs, because they were...ahhemmm, 'worn out'.. Weird thing is, the new springs I installed were more worn out Wifes observations, not mine
