Fender Stone-guard question.
Hey guys...I drive a Speed yellow C4S...that plastic stoneguard over the front of the rear fender is FUGLY! I think that the car would look SO MUCH better without it! Anyone running without it? Pics? Anyone running without is getting TONS of rockchips?

I switched mine out from the body colored version to clear and it made a HUGE difference. Rather than drive without one, just change the one you have.

Adrienne,
How easy did you find it to take off the old.
Mine are yellowed on my white C2S. I started to peel one off, seems like it will come right off.
Looking for feed back before i do it.
Can you damage the paint?

They dont make body colored ones for Speed Yellow...only Black and Silver. Taking off the old one takes HOURS! It is REALLY on there! Take it to a body shop and pay them.....you will lose fingernails! TRUST ME! Any pics of cars without these installed? Any bad/good experiences?

Adam - have you removed a set already?
I have read posts on here where people have removed them, and had no visual damage.
I myself would not want to ride with out them.

I have not taken them off myself, but had them taken off by my repair shop. The process they use is to heat them gently and pull them off. The heat relaxes the bond, however, there is a chance of paint coming off. I'd suggest getting somebody to remove them that knows what they are doing. Shouldn't cost much. I think the Porsche part is about $90, but you can get it cheaper via Invica-shield or other 3M product. I have only used the Porsche clear one.

If you put the car out in the sun and let them heat up, they peel right off no problem. Also if you peel them off at the right angle it will not leave any of the residue.

Adam,
I replaced mine with Invinca Shield stone guards. I would not run without stoneguards. They are not that difficult to replace.

Hmmm... My C4S I bought 3 months ago (48K miles now) has no stone guards and I was not aware it came standard.. PO must have either removed them or had a paint job done on my car? Anyway, my daily commute is on the freeway at 70-80mph, a total of 30 miles every day. I have put 5K on the car since I bought it and not a single stone chip yet. If I start to see any small chips, I'll get the clear type discussed in this thread.
