How much did you spend on the Yellow Zonker after you bought it? What could you sell it for today? Not much more right? Probably even less.

Great thread, great people, great spirit. Congratulations to you Steve, a truely wonderful car. And congratulations to whoever buys Steve's TT, still running on original factory turbos tells about how well it was taken care of.

Doc, you will find the one you want, just be patient.

Sounds too good to be true but Good Luck anyhow! Very nice work on above site. Looks like Conrad did a fine job with that 993 TT.

Wow, this was a great thread to read! That car looks great! I can only imagine what the performance is like...

BTW, are all RUF conversions "California Legal"?

I hope it works out for you Steve, but myself, I'm a just a tad bit leery. I hope it all checks out for you.
Sounds low doesn't it? I think, however, that there is a limit to how much anyone can charge for a Porsche with 90k miles, RUF or not. Sounds like a complete rebuild but still most sane non-rennlisters would pay even $55k for a 90k mile turbo. Good luck and have fun OFE.

After I tossed out that price, I realized I was reacting to the Ruf R price, and not what my car is really worth. I'm going to sell my car for $60k. I realize I'm taking a huge risk, especially when I love Waldo so much and swore I would keep him forever. But sometimes you take the risks and hope for a winner. My stomach is still in knots.

One thought Steve. I am sure you have already done so, but please check out the title history. I say this because many have taken insurance money and apply monies toward major upgrades, such as this RUF beauty. FWIW..

The seller is about to fax the title docs and the Ruf certificates. I've also asked him to run a Carfax for me (he's a small used Porsche dealer... a side job). The shop that did the conversion said that aside from the usual front bumper respray, the car has no paint or accidents. <crossing fingers>.

Thanks for all the suggestions and help. My daughter just addressed me as "your lunancy". I think that's a compliment. But I prefer "your ROYAL lunacy".

I think the price may also reflect the location where it is being sold. Birmingham AL is certainly not So. Cal. when it comes to Porsche re-sale value.

Atlanta is 2 hours away, but from what I understand, there are many good deals to be had in Atlanta without having to drive 2 hours.

I also agree that few folks know what a RUF is.

Steve, I think you are getting a great deal.
