Default OK-New wheels-What do you think?

Got a chance at these wheels for a great deal and could not pass them up. Cargraphic 19's w/fresh s03's. Used to have 18" hollow spoke twists with painted centers, polished rims. Still have the old rims if I want to switch back. Thoughts?

I think 19s look wrong for our 993s. What you end up with is too much rim and a rubber-band strip of tire. Looks like bling to me. Sorry, don't mean to sound harsh, but you asked
Not to mention you will have an even stiffer ride with even greater potential to damage the rim lips with such low profiles. I'd stay with 18s as they look better proportioned for the 993 fender, body, and overall lines, IMO of course.

Edward, I used to feel that way about 19's as well. However, with the 19" Ruf, maybe because of the flat face and no lip, look ok to me. They actually look smaller than the Cargraphics? I've still got two sets of 18's so can go either way!

Got your PM. Call me anytime and we can meet up.

Default Great Wheels

I am not going to get into the 18" vs. 19" debate. This is a matter of taste, like many other things Porsche. I think the wheels themselves are a vast improvement over the twists. personally, I think the twist wheels are the most boring design Porsche came out with short of the flat wheels for the 928. The twists look too much like a Japanese idea you would find on a Supra. Straight spokes are much better, and more "German".

Car looks good. How's the ride with the shorter sidewall?

FWIW I think it looks twice (x2) as nice with the 19s on.

For what it's worth...I think the scale of the 19" wheels is to much for the 993. I don't like the look.

If we're throwing out opinions, I think the painted twists look cool... makes the car look mean, not flashy (and not like any "Supra" I've ever seen).

Agree the 19"ers take away from the 993 form and look like something the youngest generation would do to our cars. Neverliked the black wheels, however I am starting to change my opinion... very different, certainly here in middle America.

Yeah, I'm going to have to go with the black twists.

I like OEM 18" twists on 993's.

I also like the Cargraphic wheels....i too would not choose 19"...I'd stay with 18" or even 17"...
