Please ignore my hand gesture, he is a good friend and it was in fun. I posted it in the race section but though some of you that don't visit there might enjoy it. Oh yeah, I put some Texas rock music in the background. I'm trying something different. Hope you enjoy.
Very nice George! Good save too!!! It reminded me of my scraps at Sebring, how much fun that is when you have someone to play with! Wish I could post mine too but I do not have a website...
One Q for you, your video is really nice and clear and only 15 megs. My video with comparable laps is 105megs. What software do you use?
Red, I do have my car setup to where it would understeer just a hair under full throttle. Lift the throttle slightly and back end comes out. I can steer it with the gas and brakes that way. Im one of the few that actually likes a little understeer, especially in the fast corners.
Danny, Im basically using whats bundled with Windows XP, Windows Movie Maker. I have some other programs but this one is the easiest to use. Make sure you compress the files that you want to distribute. Basically, my 30 minute sprint video is about 7 Gigs uncompressed and 200 Megs compressed. Let me know if you need any help and Ill walk you through it.
BTW, I did not make the pass as the video ends (but it looks good). He was my mentor for the weekend, we shared garages and talked way too much smack. I qualified 5th and he qualified 6th both times (sprint and endure), I only qualified 0.05 seconds ahead of him. He got me on the start of both, once on the inside and once on the outside. He was on Hoosiers and I ran the MPSC, so he had grip early and I had grip late. He got me in the sprint race but I got him in the enduro. Finally, the entire sprint (30 minutes) and enduro (60 minutes) were just like the video. I only pulled away at the end of the enduro and finished about 4 seconds ahead of him. I finished 0.2 behind him in the sprint race.
Andy, it's just a standard Sony MiniDV that's about three or four years old. The ride is really bumpy but I'm amazed at how smooth it looks on video. It does take away from some of the speed sensation.
Yeah, that's an old song but I've been listening to their stuff once again since Darrell. I actually used to go see them locally when they were just a garage band (more like a hair band back then). Oh I miss high school.
BTW, they used one of my earlier videos for the club race add, here it is:
Well, the car runs in IS (which is a stock class) but if you know anything about BMW Club Racing, you would know that the rules haven't really been imposed until recently. I'll just say that his car is well prepped (cams, intake, software, etc., which are legal for Stock Class). That car does have a lot of grunt. I would say we were even on power to weight. The only reason I could get runs on him was because he was on Hoosier and I could tell they were going off, one more reason to love the MPSC. The funny part is that he ordered a set of MPSC for his next race.
You should have seen the E36M3 in Prepared class, that thing pulled me like no tomorrow and just sounded mean.
