Question SAI check valve wrench size

I have searched and searched and can not find the post by Laura stating the wrench size for the SAI check valve. I know on P-car Robert K. made a 15/16 fit, but I have the MAC tools guy outside the shop and I figured I could buy somthing.
So what is the wrench size for the SAI check valve?
Thanks for the help.

Hi Dan,

I just had a wrench "made" for getting at the check valve. I started with a 25mm wrench, and filed it out a bit, so I'd say likely 26mm. It felt like a good
fit, but I couldn't get the valve to budge!

good luck,
Paul

I'm almost positive it's 27mm.

I just measured one I had cut open, it will require a 27mm wrench. I put a Z-bend in a 15/16" wrench, and ground it open to ~27mm. I will post a picture of this wrench a little later. Miraculously, it fit absolutely perfect around the fuel rail..

Here are two pics of my frankenwrench. Looks ugly, but it worked
If I did it over again, I would use a 1" wrench as this larger wrench would have more 'meat' around the open end. I felt this wrench flex (at the open end) quite a bit while I -reefed- on the valve to break it loose. Hope this helps!!

Default got it out

Thanks for all the help. I fashioned a wrench last night and gave it a try. I could not get it off with the wrench and was getting a little irritated. So I dropped a craftsman socket down the I.D. of the check valve (so the tube would not crush) and put a pair of vise-grips on the O.D., it came off without too much trouble. I am not recommending this method to everyone, but--- a man has to do what a man has to do.

It is super encouraging to see so many people tackle this themselves instead of paying for a rebuild! So far, no CEL, but I know where to turn when it happens (besides my local beer distributor).

This valve I heard was one of the items often sold and always stocked at the porsche dealer...Don't you wish the wrench was available also? I had mine changed along with the air check valve that feeds into this valve when I was doing the LWF.

Absolutely. Cant do this until tomorrow, though. Wrench is at home, and fax is here at work. OR, tonight, I could scan it and email to you. Whats your email?

Back at the SAI system. I got the three right side ports cleaned and flowing good. However, I can not get the left side to flow at all. When I try to plug the exh ports on the right side I build up too much pressure and pop out the rubber plugs. My check valve was rusted so I am changing both the check valve and vacuum operated valve just to make sure.
Will the system work with only the right side SAI flowing? How does the computer figure out there is a fault in the system, pre cat O2????
