Been around for nearly four years and you have not had to buy any parts?! Now that is a testament!! For the items that you mention I would go to the dealer. The dealer that you choose should give you a better deal than MSRP - as for the windshield, I think it comes with the inner seal attached - check your window source, so all you would need would be the outer.

Dan,
The front windshield seal that 'snaps' in around the outside window perimeter is a # 993-541-925-00. Porsche calls it in the PET a 'frame outer', but the invoice for the one I bought calls it a windshield seal. This was the correct p/n for my '97. About $22.00 from the Porsche dealer. The w/s installer will not need to replace or touch the inner rubber (upholstery) rubber trim.
This seal takes some patience to install. I used a water/soap solution in a spray bottle to lube the seal and channel. Start with the joint at the base of the windshield lined up with the antenna and work outwards. Try not to stretch the seal, as you'll end up with a bunch of slack and will have to start over.
I prefer to buy my OEM parts from the local dealer. They have my cc and give me 15% off. I always talk to the same parts person and provide him the p/n's from the PET. You may want to call the local dealer's parts department. They will probably set you up with a discount and most are very helpful. PM me if you don't have a PET.

Mike - Is the '97 windshield seal different from the '95? I have to replace my windshield and the part # given in the TSB (Rust Corrosion), had the seal as part #993-541-225-01.
I wonder is this the correct and most current front seal for the '95?
Also, it calls for Bostic 6050 to fill the gap. Is anyone using this?

Hi. Hope all is well with you.
These two p/n's are both listed in the PET for the '97 MY. Both reference the correct part in the diagram (Item # 3) and both are for a coupe. I'm sure that ordering either p/n will get the correct item. That number in the TSB may be an older number that was superseded.
Don't know about the filler material. Is this to fill the cavity under the window trim seal?

I just placed a phone order for a few parts (fan belts, oil filters, and the like) at Sunset Imports in Oregon and they are significantly cheaper than my local dealerships, even after shipped to my door! ...and I don't even have to fight traffic!! Maybe that's more a testament to SoCal-dealer gouging, but I'm definitely going back to Sunset.

Dan,
I've got the center console tray that came out of my '97 993 @ 14000 miles - let me know if you're interested. It's black & I'll offer it for 1/2 of new price including shipping. PM me if you're interested.
Cheers,
Rick
