I recently sold my 97 Boxster. Now in the market for 96 - 98 993 coupe. I would appreciate your input on 2 things:

1) C4S versus C2S trunk size. I plan to use the car as an everyday driver which means needing to carry an overnight bag on trips (pull along bag like you would stow in the overhead of a plane). I know the bag fits in a C2S. Is the C4S trunk the same size as the C2S or smaller? In know a 996 C4S trunk is a lot smaller than the 996 C2 trunk. Is this the same on the 993?

2) Looking for polar silver, arctic silver, or one of the shades of blue. Would love to find one with the trip computer option (wife needs help knowing how many miles she can drive before she runs the car dry on gas).

Any leads would be greatly appreciated. The hunt is fun but I have been at this for 3 months now. I figured you all could point me in the right direction.
Trunk are the same on both models, but there is a HUGE difference in room available if either is equipped with the 92Liters fuel tank rather than with the original one which is I think around 64.

Concerning 2) I can assure you for having tested it that the "range left" given by the computer is accurate

Hey Toga, you mean don't carry reserve and contingency fuel, and en-route alternatives with the 993?

MGLEHEW -> if you start getting frustrated with the search - I'd recommend Dave Maynard of European Locators, he can do a search for you (for a fee of course - but completely worth it IMHO). Sometimes he also has cars that he is selling on consignment.

I think Jenn or someone from Rennlist has to "activate" you. Just follow this thread link and ask Jenn to activate you.

Welcome aboard and be ready for the slippery slope my friend!

I've been at this for about 8 months looking for about the same car as yourself. Clean, low mile, decently optioned Polar Silver C4S's and/or C2S's are very difficult to find. As a matter of fact I have only ever seen one C2S in Polar Silver but it had too many miles on it (70K) for me and my purposes (this car is still available if you are interested). I had someone e-mail yesterday from PCA about his '96 C4S with 60K miles on it if you are interested. Good luck in your search...just remember that patience is a virtue worth having when looking for the "right" 993 for yourself.

P.S. I just joined Rennlist for two years myself but am waiting for Jenn to activate my account.

The only thing I pilot these days is a computer (scratch that - makes me sound like an Airbus pilot... ) and a 993

I dabbled in single engine/GA long ago, and grew up in a family with many airline pilots...

http://www.exclusive-motors.com/page.htm ---- there are two "S"s on this site that might interest you.....anybody done business with Bob, he seems very knowledgible and straightforward.

....I liked the Euro look on Tim Holt's site but at over $40K it was just too much for me as were the other 933's on his site...but he only goes for low mileage which obviously everybody would like.

I saw a black 993 (maybe c2s or c4s) through the showroom window at Exoticars of Pittsburgh over the weekend. It is not on their website though. You might want to give them a call. No affiliation and have never dealt with them, so don't know much about them.

If I may ride on the coat-tails of this thread, my friend is (also) still looking for a 993NA for his father-in-law. If anyone here is personally selling, or knows one who is, PM me. SoCal is preferred, but not necessary ...the car will be going to Europe. Thanks!
(metalsolid, I forwarded your info ...thanks!)

Not always I must confess! I refuelled once 92ltrs in my 92ltrs fuel tank and the computer gave me 5km left...not too bad
