Default This is why I could never sell cars for a living...

I received this e-mail in response to my '98 C2S that's currently for sale. No wonder I haven't sold it yet, I had the wrong car all these years

He might be smarter than you think! Maybe he's trying to get you to price it at a 996 price...

i am more interested in what your response was.... you could have some real fun with the response to an email like that...

"oh wow. i didnt know that. since it turns out that it is a mass-produced water-cooled Porsche, I am going to cut the price by 50%..."

That's funny since I've heard that more than once while with friends in their various Ferraris! Especially from older folks who see the prancing horse. "Is that one of those new Mustangs Herbert?"

Classic...especially sitting next to my 993!

My response was along the lines of "I think you're mistaken, either that or my radiator's been missing all these years". I could have been more abrupt, since I'm getting frustrated, having had two well-informed buyers who both backed out last-minute due to personal reasons.

Actually, there was one other e-mail who somewhat rudely asked me why "didn't you know you can get a lightly-optioned '00 Cab w/60k miles for $40k? What are you thinking?"

Unfortunatley some Craigslist buyers can be like that. But there are alot of Craigslist sellers who will post a Porsche for 150% of its value, or just plain don't know what they're selling... For reference, see the 944 S2 Cabriolet and 944S posts made most recently in the Bay Area craigslist..
