I have yet to see any pics of these wheels, but since I really want 9" or 9.5" wide wheels in the front this would be a great excuse to make a change. (Anyone interested in a used set of Gemballas? )
Hey again David -

I might be interested. I couldn't swing the Gembella wheels back when I was looking . . . went with a set of MY02 5 spokes.

Hi,

I received info directly from Nicole Stacy with Kinesis last week regarding the SC2 wheels. Below is what she sent to me:

********************************************************

We received the much anticipated prototype of the Supercup yesterday. There were many design and engineering changes that needed to be made to the prototype you saw 6 months ago in order for it to look better as well as have a higher probability of passing testing. We have very high standards here and the previous prototype wasn't going to cut it. So we now have a prototype that looks good. Next step, verify that the prototype was made correctly and to spec. This is what we are working on now. If this all checks out we have the company test the prototype to a certain set of standards. This is done at the manufacturer's testing site. Once that is done Kinesis Motorsport will test the Supercup in our labs (radial, cornering and fatigue as well as impact test will need to be performed). If all tests are passed we will go into production.

I cannot speak for the manufacturer's testing time frame but our labs typically take 1-2 weeks to complete all 3 tests.

Attached are some pictures of the 19" center which will be used in the 18" reverse rim sections as well as the standard lip 19" rim sections.

********************************************************
The bottomline ... it's going to be a while longer before we see anything.

The pics can be found at www.993registry.org. Click on the 'Kinesis SC2 Wheel Update' link.

No specifics on sizes, offsets, yadda yadda ... but since the 'target' audience is obviously NB 993's I am sure they will be able to meet your needs ...

I think they are pretty sexy too ... hopefully it will be worth the wait ... my deposit has been in limb long enough!

Harvey, I'm interested in a GB as well. I've spoke to Kinesis and BW motorsports and they are all saying 3/05 or 4/05 and pricing about $3,500.00. So if your saying a GB at $3,300.00. I'm in all the way. Let me know when you have details of the GB

Man, those look GOOD! Maybe I will be able to afford a set second-hand in a few years down the road after I quit buying all of this crap for racing.

It's great to see the interest in the Supercup. We're really excited about it too. However, I'm not sure where the information came from. The Supercup is currently in the tooling phase. We don't have an ETA yet. Also, we don't know what we are going to be paying for it so pricing has not been released to any dealers. It may be close to the information posted in this thread, it may not. Also, the Supercup will be a true 19" wheel (19" with a step lip). It will also be available in an 18" reverse drop center (smooth outer lip). We will notify our dealers as we progress. It's a high priority for us and we're moving as fast as possible. Thank you very much for your interest and enthusiasm.

Nicole - Thanks for the update...please keep us posted with the progress. BTW if you have a list of planned available offsets and widths that would be appreciated...some of us are looking for a reason to trade up to new rims

I am very interested in the new SCIIs. If there is a chance for a group buy either automatically include me in or at the very least let me hear about the opportunity.

Not sure to whom this should be directed so I merely post the request here.

Thank you. Gary
